Victoria vs Tasmania Prediction

Ben Dunk has struggled with his form so far which is going to make contributions from Tim Paine, Dom Michael and Alex Doolan all the more important. Paine, who hit a century in the second game, has scored the most runs for Tasmania this year and he could top-score for his team on Thursday. For Tasmania's scorecard to look good, these three batsmen will have to click.

Victoria will be wary of Cameron Boyce, Simon Milenko and Xavier Doherty - the three Tasmania bowlers who could do the most damage. Boyce bowled exceptionally well in the last match and bagged a four-for. With eight wickets from three games, the legspinner is the tournament's second-highest wicket-taker and has a strong chance for being the top bowler for Tasmania in this match. Doherty and Milenko are also among the wickets and things may not look too bright for Victoria if they keep up their good work with the ball.

Victoria are five-time tournament winners and ten-time runners-up while Tasmania have the won the tournament and have finished as runners-up four times each. Last year, the former came third while the latter were fourth in the standings. In the most recent face-off between these two sides last season, it was Victoria who came out on top, beating Tasmania by 48 runs (D/L method). So Victoria hold a slight edge as far as past performances are concerned. 

This year, the two teams have been pretty much neck-and-neck so far and it could be a close contest on Thursday. We, however, predict Victoria to win this match.
