UAE will take on Singapore in Match 3 of the Round-Robin stage of the 2022 Asia Cup Qualifier. The game will be played at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground, Turf 1, Muscat starting at 18:00 local time on Monday 22nd August

UAE got off to a disappointing start in Match 2 when they were beaten by one wicket by Kuwait on Sunday evening. They went into the game as overwhelming favourites but could not get the result. Opener Chirag Suri top scored with 88 runs from 61 balls although he may favour a more attacking approach in this match. Alongside opening partner Muhammed Waseem, the pair put on 78 inside nine overs and it looked like they would cruise to victory. With the ball, off-spinner Basil Hameed took 3-22 from four overs but the rest of the bowling attack were far too expensive. UAE need to improve their batting and bowling in this match.

Singapore were beaten by Hong Kong by eight runs in Match 1, a margin of defeat which was much smaller than most expert pundits had predicted. We expect Singapore to take confidence from that performance and to be far more competitive against UAE than would have been anticipated only a few days ago. Amjad Mahboob, Janak Prakash and Akshay Puri all took two wickets against Hong Kong with the bulk of their runs coming from opener Aritra Dutta (29) and Janak Prakash (31).
