Trinbago Knight Riders vs Jamaica Tallawahs 1st Semi-Final, CPL T20

After a totally dominant league phase, unbeaten table-toppers Trinbago Knight Riders take on Jamaica Tallawahs in the first semi-final of the 2020 Caribbean Premier League. The match takes place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, on September 8 and the live action starts at 10:00 local time.

Trinbago Knight Riders won all ten matches in the league phase, signing off in style by bowling St Kitts & Nevis Patriots out for 77 on their way to a nine-wicket win. Fawad Ahmed was their bowling star with 4-21 in that win, whereas previous victories were built around excellent batting.

Jamaica Tallawahs only won three times by contrast and lost their three completed games too. Glenn Phillips starred with the bat and Andre Russell has made a big batting impact, but they could not chase 146 to beat St Lucia last time out.

TKR vs JT Dream11 Prediction

  • Wicket-keeper

Glenn Phillips is ten credits but has been in top form at the top of the order and is key as wicket-keeper-batsman for Jamaica Tallawahs. He is a must-pick given the runs he has scored so far.

  • Batsmen

Lendl Simmons is nine credits and Darren Bravo is a good option at 8.5 credits. Jermaine Blackwood is the same price and has been promoted up the order to good effect by Jamaica Tallawahs.

  • All-rounders

Sunil Narine is 10.5 credits and too expensive to gamble on given his recent unavailability. Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell, costing ten and 10.5 credits, are much better options potentially. Carlos Brathwaite has more points than Dwayne Bravo so far, while Sikandar Raza is 0.5 credits cheaper. Brathwaite and Raza are therefore excellent options.

  • Bowlers

Mujeeb Ur Rahman is a key bowling option and back in the wickets last time out. Fawad Ahmed starred in the last game two. With those two selected, Jayden Seales at eight credits – or Ali Khan or Khary Pierre as alternatives – are other good choices.

  • Captain/Vice-captain

Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard are T20 icons and this game suits both of them. Russell is not bowling at the moment, so Pollard could be the better captain.

TKR vs JT Dream11 Team Prediction

  • Batsmen:Darren Bravo, Lendl Simmons, Jermaine Blackwood

  • All Rounder:Kieron Pollard (c), Sikandar Raza, Andre Russell (vc), Carlos Brathwaite

  • Wicket Keeper:Glenn Phillips

  • Bowler:Fawad Ahmed, Jayden Seales, Mujeeb Ur Rahman
