A heavy defeat to VB Kanchi Veerans, after conceding 193/3 and posting 135/8 in reply, had left them struggling to finish in the top four. A strong all-round showing, led by Subramania Siva’s explosive batting, kept them alive against Karaikudi Kaalai however. After posting 175/4, they then restricted the opposition to just 118/8.
