  • Table-topping Sydney Sixers and second-placed Perth Scorchers go head-to-head for the first shot at reaching the 2020-21 BBL Final.
  • The Sixers, the defending champions, beat Melbourne Stars to snatch top spot in their final game – Dan Christian’s late 49* from 23 balls enough to reach 180/5 in 19.5 overs in a five-wicket win.
  • Perth Scorchers were in pole position until they lost their final league match – Mitchell Marsh's 54* from 26 balls not quite enough as they lost to Brisbane by six runs.

SYS vs PRS Prediction & Betting Tips, BBL 2020-21

Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers go head-to-head at Canberra’s Manuka Oval to determine who will be the first team into the 2020-21 Big Bash League Final. The match, between the top two teams in the league phase, takes place on January 30 and is scheduled to start at 19:15 local time.

Sydney Sixers finished top of the pile to continue a strong title defence – moving back above the Scorchers, who they have already beaten in Canberra this season, by beating Melbourne Stars in the final group game. Dan Christian thumped 49* from 23 balls in a five-wicket win – the Sixers reaching 180/5 with a ball to spare.

Perth Scorchers would have finished top had they won their final match, but Mitchell Marsh’s 54* from 26 balls came slightly too late as they hit 175/6 replying to Brisbane Heat’s 181/7. It ended a three-match winning streak and a run of eight wins in nine games – their only previous defeat in that spell having come against the Sixers at the Manuka Oval.

SYS vs PRS Toss Prediction

When these teams last met in Canberra, Perth won the toss and elected to bat first. They may choose to field first this time.

Weather Report

The rain and stormy weather earlier in the day is set to clear by the evening – both teams will be hoping that remains the case on Saturday.

Pitch Condition

Canberra can be a bit of a mix, but generally the Manuka Oval favours the batting team.

Sydney Sixers Team News & Playing 11

SYS Team News

Steve O’Keefe returned last time out and Jackson Bird bowled just one over before being replaced by X-Factor Sub Jake Ball. Ball may start this time, but he too was expensive with the ball. Mitchell Starc is not an option to replace them as he rests a knee injury.

SYS Key Players

  • Jordan Silk: In fine form with the bat, having scored 42, 78 and 35* in his last three innings. His big-hitting prowess down the order is key.
  • Sean Abbott: Has passed 100 BBL wickets with figures of 2-32 and then 2-28 in his two matches since returning to the team.
  • Dan Christian: Starred with the bat last time out, smashing 49* from 23 balls, and as far as the BBL goes he has been there and done that. In the play-offs, his experience will be key.

SYS Team Form

After two defeats saw them drop off the top of the table, losing to Sydney Thunder and then Hobart Hurricanes after some expensive bowling, the Sixers pounced on Perth Scorchers’ slip-up to win the final group game and finish top of the pile. Ben Dwarshuis (3-27) and Sean Abbott (2-28) helped limit Melbourne Stars to 177/6, and just as it looked as though the Sixers had left the batsmen too much to do, Dan Christian arrived to smash 49* from 23 balls and secure a five-wicket win with one ball to spare.

Sydney Sixers Predicted Playing 11

Josh Phillipe (wk), James Vince, Dan Hughes, Moises Henriques (c), Jordan Silk, Dan Christian, Carlos Brathwaite, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Steve O’Keefe, Jake Ball

SYS vs PRS Dream11 Team Prediction, Captain, Vice Captain

  • Wicket Keeper

Josh Philippe is an obvious choice thanks to his batting form this season and after two low scores he is due a big score in this match too. Josh Inglis is nine credits, but there are options higher up the Scorchers’ batting line-up that could prove better.

  • Batsmen

Those options include big-hitting stars Colin Munro and Jason Roy, as well as in-form Mitchell Marsh – fresh from the half-century he smashed last time out. For the Sixers, Jordan Silk has found some excellent batting form and he looks a must-pick if he is able to maintain that.

  • All rounder

Dan Christian is 9.5 credits but his match-winning batting last time out showed why. He has 771 points so far. Liam Livingstone is a key batsman for the Scorchers, meanwhile, and worth picking at nine credits.

  • Bowlers

Jhye Richardson is ten credits and his excellent wicket-taking form means he is a must-pick even at that price. Team-mates Andrew Tye and Jason Behrendorff are also in top bowling form, but you may have to restrict yourself to just one of them given the same can be said of Sixers’ duo Sean Abbott and Ben Dwarshuis. Tye is in the one in the wickets of late for the Scorchers.

  • Captain /Vice Captain

Jhye Richardson has 27 wickets so far and looks a good choice for captain thanks to his wicket-taking consistency. Andrew Tye has also been in the wickets of late, and Sean Abbott has made a wicket-taking impact since arriving for the Sixers. One of those two, possibly the latter to keep things balanced, will be a good pick.

SIX vs SCO Dream11 Team Prediction

  • Batsmen:Colin Munro, Jason Roy, Mitchell Marsh, Jordan Silk

  • All Rounder:Liam Livingstone, Dan Christian

  • Wicket Keeper:Josh Philippe

  • Bowler:Jhye Richardson (c), Andrew Tye, Sean Abbott (vc), Ben Dwarshuis

Perth Scorchers Team News & Playing 11

PRS Team News

Perth Scorchers were unchanged last time out in BBL and, despite defeat, their previous form should give that same XI another chance in this game too.

PRS Key Players

  • Jason Roy: Has returned to some good batting form just in time, by scoring 54 and 41 – both from 32 balls – in his last two innings up the order.
  • Jhye Richardson: Expensive last time out, but another wicket did take him to 27 for the season at the top of the wicket-taking charts.
  • Jason Behrendorff: Consistent with the ball, taking wickets and keeping things tight, he took two more wickets last time out to move to seven in his last four matches.

PRS Team Form

After a run of eight wins in nine games had propelled the Scorchers to the top of the BBL table, Perth slipped up in the final league game to finish second. They had won three in a row, with Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff and Jhye Richardson all bowling well. Last time out, however, they conceded 181/7 against Brisbane Heat and paid for a sluggish spell in the middle overs in reply – Mitchell Marsh’s 54* from 26 balls coming just too late as they finished 175/6.

Perth Scorchers Predicted Playing 11

Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone, Colin Munro, Josh Inglis (wk), Mitchell Marsh, Ashton Turner (c), Aaron Hardie, Jhye Richardson, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Fawad Ahmed
