Perth Scorchers are coming back from 5 back to back wins but they’ve played all their matches at their home venue i.e at Perth. The next match is at Canberra and they might take some time to get used to the conditions.
They’ve played only one match on this ground in the BBL 2020-21 and were thrashed by Sydney Thunders by 7 wickets.
Sydney Sixers on the other hand will be very happy with their performance in the last few games. They’re coming back from two back to back wins over Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunders. Their last game was on this very same venue thus they’ll be better used to the conditions.
Josh Philippe has been in top form. James Vince, Daniel Hughes, Jordan Silk, Justin Avendano are match winners on their day. The presence of Daniel Christian and Carlos Brathwaite add a lot of depth in their team.
Steve O Keefe was the star performer in the previous match against the Thunders and we think that he’ll bowl well against the Scorchers as well. Jack Bird, Jake Ball, Lloyd Pope also had a decent game.
Perth Scorchers look a real force at the moment but the only issue for us will be the conditions which might not favour them much.
Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone blasted 50’s in the last match. They along with Josh Inglish, Ashton Turner, Cameron Bancroft forms a solid batting line up.
The bowling has been top class with Jhye Richardson spitting venom with his bowling. Jason Behrendorff, Andrew Tye, Fawad Ahmed, Ahston Hardie have done a fine job too.
Overall, there is little to choose from the teams but the fact that Canberra offers a different surface than Perth, we’d like to believe that Sixers will be more comfortable in the match than the Scorchers.
