Defending champions Sydney Sixers will bid to make it consecutive Big Bash League titles when they take on Perth Scorchers in the 2020-21 Final at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Sydney Sixers finished top of the table in the league phase and then thrashed Perth Scorchers in the Qualifier play-off. James Vince smashed 98* from 53 balls and may have reached his century had Andrew Tye not bowled a wide with the Sixers needing just one to win. The Sixers chased 168 to win in just 17 overs, in a comprehensive nine-wicket thrashing.
Perth Scorchers bounced back in the Challenger, however. Liam Livingstone hammered 77 from 39 balls as they posted 189/1 against Brisbane Heat. Aaron Hardie then claimed three wickets, albeit having been expensive, as they secured a comfortable 49-run win on the DLS method.
