Toss Prediction
Toss will be key at the SCG. The venue has hosted six T20 internationals till date out of which the most recently played four have all been won by the side batting second. And also since the pitch at this ground is expected to remain true throughout the game, the team that wins the 'bat flip' here is more likely to bowl first.

Sydney Sixers Team News & Playing 11
SYS Team News
Sydney Sixers have lost veteran pace bowler John Hastings to a premature retirement due to a health problem and have signed English all-rounder Tom Curran and local spinner Lloyd Pope in order to bolster their bowling department. Nathan Lyon will not be available for the team's campaign opener against Perth Scorchers as he is currently in the Australian national team that is playing India in the test series. The Sixers could open their batting with Daniel Hughes and all-rounder Jack Edwards.
SYS Key Players
Daniel Hughes, Josh Philippe and Moises Henriques seem to be the key men for Sydney Sixers in terms of batting. Hughes scored 227 runs for them in eight matches last season and the opener will be expected to perform even better this time around. Philippe has showed in the JLT cup of what he is capable of while Henriques with his experience of playing at the international level will be a vital cog in the middle order. Sean Abbott, Tom Curran and Steve O’Keefe will pose the main threat to Perth Scorchers with the ball. Abbott was the Sixers' most successful bowler last year with 13 wickets which included one four-wicket haul. Fast bowler Curran will be backed by his team to strike early while O'Keefe will be the skipper's go-to man when it comes to spin. The left-armer is a skilled operator in the shortest format and is also capable of bowling well in the powerplay.
SYS Recent Form
Sydney Sixers failed to make it past the league round last season as they finished fifth on the points table with four wins and six losses from ten matches. Their campaign got off to a horrendous start, facing defeat in each of their first six matches. But they did well to lift themselves up from the bottom by winning their final four league games in a row. The Sixers defeated Melbourne Stars by five wickets in their last outing.

Perth Scorchers Team News & Playing 11
PRS Team News
Perth Scorchers went down to Melbourne Renegades in their campaign opener but since these are early days in the tournament, it is unlikely that they will press the panic button and start making changes to their line-up for the next game against Sydney Sixers. The Scorchers are going into this game carrying no injury issues and we expect them to field an unchanged playing eleven.
PRS Key Players
After a dismal batting performance in the last game, Perth Scorchers will expect the likes of Michael Klinger, Mitchell Marsh, David Willey and Ashton Turner to come to the fore with the bat. Klinger was the only batsman in this line-up to score in 20s and he had even struck 83 against Sydney Sixers last year. Turner had scored an aggregate of 97 runs in the two matches against the Sixers last time and he will be the Scorchers' key man in the middle order. Jason Behrendorff and Nathan Coulter-Nile were outstanding with the ball in the last game against the Renegades, picking two wickets apiece in the powerplay to keep their team in the hunt. These two will probably open the bowling again and they could cause problems for the Sixers upfront with the swinging new ball. Andrew Tye was one of the tournament's best bowlers last season. The pacer took a four-fer last time against the Sixers and he too will be a big threat in this bowling attack.
PRS Recent Form
Perth Scorchers topped the league standings last year with eight wins from ten matches but were knocked out in the semi-final with a 71-run defeat to Hobart Hurricanes. This year, they have started their BBL 08 campaign on a losing note as they faced a four-wicket loss to Melbourne Renegades in Thursday's encounter at the Docklands Stadium. The Scorchers put up a disappointing show with the bat as their entire line-up folded for just 103.
Perth Scorchers Predicted Playing 11
Michael Klinger, Sam Whiteman (wk), David Willey, Mitchell Marsh (c), Ashton Turner, Ashton Agar, Hilton Cartwright, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Usman Qadir
