Essex Eagles are making a concerted late push for the knockout stages after winning four of their last five games in the South Group. They currently sit in 6th place, two points behind Surrey and Sussex Sharks. Recent wins have come over Surrey, Middlesex, Somerset and Glamorgan with only a defeat against leaders Kent Spitfires preventing more points on the board. However, they will be without key batsman Dan Lawrence who hit half-centuries in the wins over Middlesex and Glamorgan. Lawrence has been called up for England’s ODI series against Pakistan.
