Velocity won one game and lost one game in the 2020 Women’s T20 Challenge but, in spite of having the same number of points as the other two sides, missed out on the final due to an inferior net-run-rate. For this year’s tournament they will be captained by 24 year-old Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma. She is a fine player with 145 international wickets and an international century to her name. England’s Kate Cross and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt are their star overseas players.
