Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis will be opening the batting and the team will want the former to play a big innings. Skipper Faf du Plessis is going to be the key batsmen for them and his wicket will have the highest price tag on it. Hodge will be depended on in the middle order while both Perera and Brathwaite can hit a long way down the order.
Tabraiz Shamsi had a good first game where he was very economical in his four overs. The spinner is expected to pick up wickets at the Warner Park as he might get sufficient turn and bounce off the pitch. Samuel Badree is another leggie St Lucia will be wary of and he could be bowled first up. Brathwaite and Perera will be leading the pace attack and the two are likely to bowl well in tandem.
Opening batsman Johnson Charles seems to be in the form of his life. He had a good run in the tri-series and has now hit a fifty in the first match of the tournament, making him a definite candidate for a top-batsman bet. Fletcher failed to impress in the tri-series but the T20 format might just suit his aggressive approach. Hussey's lack of match practice means that Watson and Miller will have to bat more responsibly.
Shane Watson bowled St Lucia to victory by taking three wickets at a decent economy rate. The allrounder adds more depth to their bowling and he is likely to bag the most wickets again on Sunday. Morne Morkel and skipper Darren Sammy are the ones that will be backed to pick up wickets early on. St Lucia will need these three to bowl well against St Kitts.
The Patriots and the Zouks both had a disastrous CPL 2015, finishing last and second-to-last respectively. Both will be seeking their first ever spot in the playoffs this year and have come up with stronger teams from last time. Head-to-head, the two teams have one win each with St Kitts winning the most recent game at the Warner Park. So they will have a psychological advantage when they take on St Lucia at this ground. But they could also be short on confidence following their defeat here in the first match. The Zouks, on the other hand, will be all pumped up after their hard-fought victory in the CPL opener and will be playing with lesser pressure.
Both teams feature quite a few match-winners in their side and it won't be fair to write one team off with the tournament in its early stage. We, however, are backing St Lucia Zouks here to win the first of the double-header.
