SNP vs STZ Betting Tips

  • St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have won just one of their first five matches in the Caribbean Premier League so far this season.
  • St Lucia Zouks will therefore be looking to advantage and build on their Rahkeem Cornwall-inspired win against Jamaica Tallawahs last time out.
  • The Zouks lost their first two games, but had Colin de Grandhomme and Hardus Viljoen available for the first time in their most recent match and duly recorded their first win.

St Lucia Zouks are favorites to win

Who will win St Kitts vs St Lucia Zouks, CPL 2019?

Out-of-form St Kitts & Nevis Patriots host St Lucia Zouks at Warner Park in the latest Caribbean Premier League fixture. The match takes place on September 15 and the live action in Basseterre will begin at 18:00 local time.

The Patriots have lost their last two home games, giving them a record of one win in five games in total. Not even the return of Sheldon Cottrell, who had started the tournament in wicket-taking form before missing two matches, could inspire them to victory last time out.

St Lucia Zouks come into this game on the back of a win, meanwhile. They have not yet played a home game – this is their fourth away match in a row – but they did beat Jamaica Tallawahs at Sabina Park last time out. Rahkeem Cornwall was at his big-hitting best to inspire them to victory.

SNP vs STZ Toss Prediction

St Lucia Zouks have won the toss in all three matches so far this season so they are due to lose one this time. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots are likely to field first, as has been the tendency for teams winning the toss in this competition.

SNP vs STZ Weather Report

It will be humid in Basseterre but there is a low chance of rain, with just a little cloud cover and temperatures sticking in the high 20s throughout the evening.

SNP vs STZ Pitch Condition

Warner Park has been good for batting so far, with the pitch less responsible for the Patriots’ low score last time out than the ideal bowling conditions in which the match took place. With less cloud cover this time, there could be more runs.

St Kitts & Nevis Team News & Playing 11

SNP Team News

Sheldon Cottrell returned to the team last time out after missing the last two matches, replacing Usama Mir, while Dominic Drakes retained his spot. Mohammad Hafeez opened the batting with Evin Lewis missing out, however.

SNP Key Players

Laurie Evans: The Englishman scored 41 and 64 in his first two matches and, although he scored slower last time out, his 26 from 21 balls was still one of the Patriots’ highest scores.

Devon Thomas: Anchored the Patriots’ win when these teams last met and may feel he has a point to prove after scoring one from seven balls last time out. He has hit two half-centuries at the top of the order in this tournament.

Sheldon Cottrell: Back in the team after missing two matches, he had taken four wickets in the first two games and will be keen to get back to that form as he continues an excellent year on a personal level.

SNP Team Form

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have lost four of their five matches so far. Their one win was a notable one – chasing 242 to beat Jamaica Tallawahs by four wickets in their first home game – but they have lost their next two at Warner Park.

Chasing 187 to beat Barbados Tridents, Laurie Evans hit 64 but the Patriots could only post 168/9 and, last time out, they were bowled out for 121 against Guyana Amazon Warriors and suffered a seven-wicket defeat.

SNP vs STZ Dream11 Prediction

Wicket-keeper

Devon Thomas has been in good form, with two half-centuries, but has fallen short in his last two innings. Andre Fletcher, by contrast, hit his stride last time out in an excellent partnership with Rahkeem Cornwall. It could be worth paying the extra credit for Fletcher.

Batsmen

Evin Lewis did not play the last match and none of the other top-priced batsmen have made an impact so far. Laurie Evans is brilliant value at 8.5 credits, while Shamarh Brooks has racked up some decent points for eight credits. The Zouks will look to players like John Campbell to find their best form now.

All-rounders

The players in good form for the Zouks are their all-rounders. Rahkeem Cornwall was in top batting form last time out after a decent start in the first two games too, while Colin de Grandhomme’s arrival has bolstered their line-up too. For the Patriots, Fabian Allen has been in good all-round form – scoring lower-order runs in particular. Thisara Perera, Mohammad Hafeez and Carlos Brathwaite are all among the other options, or you could hold a place back for an extra bowler.

Bowlers

If you do hold a place back for a bowler, there are plenty of options. Sheldon Cottrell is back in the team for the Patriots and leads their attack after taking four wickets in the first two games. For the Zouks, Fawad Ahmed has five wickets in three games to continue the form he showed with Trinbago Knight Riders last season, while Obed McCoy is another good pick. That leaves one place, with Kesrick Williams another option for the Zouks or Alzarri Joseph and Rayad Emrit for the Patriots. The latter is the top scorer of the two in Dream 11 this season.

Captain/Vice-captain

With some good all-round options, that looks the best place to start for captain and vice-captain. Colin de Grandhomme will contribute with bat and ball, and his arrival is a big boost for the Zouks. He could be a good pick as captain. Rahkeem Cornwall starred with the bat last time out and will always bowl a couple of overs too. Perhaps less than De Grandhomme, however, which is why he is our vice-captain instead.

St Lucia Zouks Team News & Playing 11

STZ Team News

Colin de Grandhomme made his first appearance last time out, replacing Najibullah Zadran as planned. Zadran is now away on international duty with Afghanistan, while De Grandhomme’s commitments with New Zealand are now over. Hardus Viljoen was another to step into the team after a late arrival, replacing Kavem Hodge – again, as scheduled.

STZ Key Players

Rahkeem Cornwall: After scores of 36 and 33 in the first two games, the giant all-rounder hammered 75 last time out – hitting four fours and eight sixes in his 30-ball match-winning innings.

Andre Fletcher: Shared a century partnership with Cornwall at the top of the order last time out – the wicket-keeper-batsman hit an unbeaten 47, narrowly missing out on his 26th career T20 half-century.

Fawad Ahmed: Top wicket-taker last season for the Trinbago Knight Riders, the former Aussie international leg-spinner has five wickets in three games so far this season.

STZ Team Form

St Lucia Zouks lost their first two matches of the new season, scoring 142/9 in reply to Guyana Amazon Warriors’ 155/9, before being unable to defend 167/5 against Trinbago Knight Riders. They got off the mark last time out, however – Rahkeem Cornwall thumping 75 from 30 balls as the Zouks made light work of chasing 171 to beat Jamaica Tallawahs. They won by five wickets with 3.2 overs to spare.

St Lucia Zouks Predicted Playing 11

Andre Fletcher (wk), Rahkeem Cornwall, John Campbell, Colin de Grandhomme, Darren Sammy (c), Roland Cato, Thisara Perera, Kesrick Williams, Obed McCoy, Hardus Viljoen, Fawad Ahmed.
