SNP vs GAW Betting Tips

  • Guyana Amazon Warriors head into their first away game of this year's tournament having won three from three in their first block of home fixtures.
  • That includes beating St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, as for the second year running Shimron Hetmyer excelled in this fixture to lead the Warriors to a comfortable win.
  • The Patriots have lost three of their four matches so far, including their most recent one, but their only win was an eye-catching one - chasing 242 to beat Jamaica Tallawahs at Warner Park.

Guyana Amazon Warriors are favorites to win

Who will win St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Guyana Amazon Warriors, CPL 2019?

Guyana Amazon Warriors will look to maintain their winning start when they head to Warner Park to take on St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. The match takes place on September 14 and the live action is scheduled to start at 18:00 local time.

The Warriors won all three of their home games in their first block of fixtures and will now be looking to take that form on the road. They have been boosted by the arrival of Imran Tahir – one of their stars of last season – who more than compensates for the loss of Shadab Khan to domestic commitments.

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, meanwhile, have won just one of their four games so far. That includes defeat to the Warriors at Providence Stadium and also defeat to Barbados Tridents last time out – the Patriots failing to back up their stunning chase of 242 to beat Jamaica the previous day.

SNP vs GAW Toss Prediction

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have won the toss in each of their last two matches and so are due to lose this one. As was the case when these teams last met, the Warriors will likely opt to field first.

SNP vs GAW Weather Report

Showers are forecast in the evening in St Kitts, with a 43 per cent chance of rain currently on the cards. They may get lucky, but it could otherwise be a stop-start evening of cricket under overcast conditions.

SNP vs GAW Pitch Condition

Warner Park, normally a balanced wicket, saw the batsmen go crazy in its first game of the 2019 CPL. Last time out, the Patriots conceded another 180 runs and anything less than that looks below par at the moment – although weather conditions may alter things slightly.

St Kitts & Nevis Team News & Playing 11

SNP Team News

Sheldon Cottrell has missed the last two games but has taken to Twitter to confirm he has no injury. If that is the case, the Patriots will surely recall him this time, given his excellent wicket-taking start to the tournament. Dominic Drakes would probably be the man to make way, despite his late hitting last time out. Laurie Evans has come into the team for the last two games and the Englishman was in excellent form last time out.

SNP Key Players

Laurie Evans: Wasted no time making his mark on this tournament after flying out following Sussex’s T20 Blast quarter-final defeat. He scored 41 in the first game and top-scored with 64 last time out.

Devon Thomas: Scored two half-centuries so far, including 62 when these teams last met and 71 in the stunning win against Jamaica Tallawahs. Batting up the order, it has been a marked improvement in his previous T20 record.

Sheldon Cottrell: If he is indeed fit, then the Patriots need to recall him to the starting line-up. He took four wickets in the first two games and has claimed on social media he has no injuries.

SNP Team Form

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have played four times already this season but they have won just once. After away defeats to Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors, they marked their first home game with a big win – Devon Thomas top-scoring with 71 as the Patriots chased 242 to beat Jamaica Tallawahs by four wickets in a remarkable game.

Last time out, however, they could only reach 168/9 in reply to Barbados Tridents’ 186/2. That was despite Laurie Evans hitting 64 from 41 balls up the order.

SNP vs GAW Dream11 Prediction

Wicket-keeper

Devon Thomas was in good form when these teams last met and has hit two half-centuries so far in this tournament. Nicholas Pooran was back to his best last time out, meanwhile, and both could be worth acquiring.

Batsmen

Laurie Evans has made a big impact in this tournament already so it is surprising to see he costs just 8.5 credits. He has to be picked at that price. That allows you credits spare to pick up both Evin Lewis and Shimron Hetmyer at ten credits apiece. Chandrapaul Hemraj top-scored for Guyana last time out, meanwhile, and so he could be worth picking up at eight credits too.

All-rounders

There is good value available among the all-rounders too, particular Fabian Allen – who has already delivered some good returns on his 8.5-credit cost. Keemo Paul is the same price, while the captains – Shoaib Malik and Carlos Brathwaite – are both 9.5 credits. The key question is how much space you wish to leave for the bowlers.

Bowlers

Sheldon Cottrell says he is fit to play and if he returns should be expected to maintain his wicket-taking form. Imran Tahir is the same price as Cottrell and also expected to make his first appearance in this game, with Shadab Khan unavailable for the Warriors. Chris Green and Romario Shepherd have already established themselves as key players for the Warriors, meanwhile, and are available at great prices. If Cottrell is too big a gamble, then Alzarri Joseph is an alternative, or one of the aforementioned all-rounders.

Captain/Vice-captain

Laurie Evans has arrived at this tournament in good batting form and, if the wicket proves to be good for batting again, a big score could be incoming. He could be a useful pick as captain. Shimron Hetmyer has a good record against the Patriots, meanwhile, and is another good option though his otherwise inconsistent form may mean vice-captain is a safer bet.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Team News & Playing 11

GAW Team News

Ben Laughlin missed the last game but could return to the Guyana Amazon Warriors’ side this time out in place of Odean Smith. The Warriors will be forced into one more change too – Shadab Khan’s early withdrawal meaning Imran Tahir has returned to the Warriors’ squad.

GAW Key Players

Shimron Hetmyer: Starred in one of the Warriors’ wins against St Kitts & Nevis last season and did so again this year when he scored 70*. He now needs to produce performances like that more consistently.

Nicholas Pooran: Back to his best last time out as he hit three fours and five sixes in a total of 61* from 30 balls. It was his 11th T20 half-century and boosted his strike rate to 144.34 in the format.

Romario Shepherd: Starred with the ball last time out, taking 4-13 against Barbados Tridents to move to seven wickets in this year’s tournament so far.

GAW Team Form

Guyana Amazon Warriors have won three from three so far in Caribbean Premier League. They started their block of home fixtures by defending 155/9 against St Lucia Zouks as Shadab Khan claimed 3-16 from his four overs. Khan then took 2-20 to restrict St Kitts & Nevis Patriots to 153/8 before Shimron Hetmyer hit 70* to earn an eight-wicket win.

Last time out, Chandrapaul Hemraj scored 63 from 55 balls and Nicholas Pooran smashed 61* from 30 in a total of 180/4 against Barbados Tridents. Romario Shepherd then claimed 4-13 as the Tridents were bowled out for 133.
