SLT Team News
Sylhet Thunder switched their batting line-up around last time out, as Rony Talukdar came into the team in place of captain Mossadek Hossain. Andre Fletcher led the team and dropped to number five in the batting order. It failed to inspire an improved batting performance, however, and there could be more changes as Sylhet look to end their poor run of form.
SLT Key Players
Mohammad Mithun: Forged a lonely path last time these teams met as he scored 62 – his second half-century of this tournament – to pass 2,000 runs in T20 cricket. He also has an unbeaten 49 to his name this season, but has lacked consistency.
Andre Fletcher: In fine form when he smashed an unbeaten century against Khulna Tigers and needs to get back to those levels after struggling for runs in three of his four innings since.
Ebadat Hossain: Finished with figures of 1-12 when these teams last met and was a more prominent figure last time out as he took 3-33 and moved to 11 wickets in total.
SLT Team Form
Sylhet Thunder lost their first four matches in a row, thrashed Khulna Tigers to get off the mark as Andre Fletcher hit an unbeaten century, but have not won since. That includes the recent defeat to Rangpur Rangers, when Mohammad Mithun hit 62 in a total of 133/9 and the Rangers claimed a seven-wicket win.
They have played just once since then, against Cumilla Warriors. Ebadat Hossain and Sherfane Rutherford each took three wickets as they limited the Warriors to 140/9 but they were reduced to 33/5 and then 104/8 in reply – Sohag Gazi keeping them alive with a half-century. Naveen-ul-Haq and Monir Hossain shared some late runs to take the match to the final ball, however, where they tied the match – Monir run out going for the winning run. In the super over, however, the Thunder scored just seven and Naveen-ul-Haq could not defend it.
