The champions of the previous two editions will go head-to-head in the ICC World Twenty20 2016 on March 20. The 21st match of the tournament will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and live action is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM local time. The West Indies defeated Sri Lanka in the finals to the win the title in 2012. The latter then bounced back after two years to defeat the former in the semifinal and went on to lift the trophy in 2014. The two teams from Group 1 are now ready for another face off in the Super 10 stage of this year's World T20. Both have won their first match of the tournament and will give their all on Sunday to move closer to the knockout stage.

They eased past Afghanistan's total of 153 riding on a brilliant knock of unbeaten 83 by Tillakaratne Dilshan. The explosive opening batsman has played 73 T20Is for his side and has amassed 1,751 runs in the format. He is currently the most experienced batsman in their batting lineup and his return to form makes him a good betting option. Dinesh Chandimal and skipper Angelo Mathews are two other Sri Lankan batsmen who have been performing consistently with the bat.
Though their batting looks fine, Sri Lanka will have to improve their fielding and bowling. They dropped a couple of easy catches and their bowlers should have restricted Afghanistan to a smaller total. Nevertheless, Thisara Perera took three wickets and didn't give much away as per T20 standards. Rangana Herath also finished with impressive figures of 2 for 24 in four overs. Sri Lanka will be hoping for their ace bowler Lasith Malinga to get fit and if he plays on Sunday, he will be going in with high betting odds.

Chasing England's 183, the left-handed opener smashed an unbeaten 100 off just 48 balls including 11 towering sixes. Given the fact that he has played a lot of cricket at the Chinnaswamy stadium for the RCB in the IPL, he becomes an obvious choice when it comes to wagering money. Marlon Samuels and Andre Russell due to their ability to hit the ball a long distance will also be the ones to watch out for.
One area where the West Indies would like to work on is to contain their opposition in the death overs. Against England, Andre Russell was the pick of the bowlers as he took two top-order wickets including the important one of Joe Root. The allrounder's recent contributions with both bat and ball makes him worth a wager. With the wicket in Bangalore expected to favor the spinners, both Samuel Badree and Sulieman Benn could come into action against the Sri Lankan batsmen.

The two teams have met each other six times in the World T20 with the Lankans leading 5-1. But while the records indicate that Sri Lanka have an edge over the Windies, the recent form of the two teams suggests otherwise. Sri Lanka have been a very unpredictable side of late, an assertion that gets justified from their recent tour of India and their underwhelming performance in the Asia Cup which followed soon after. West Indies, on the contrary, have a better team composition and are a powerhouse when it comes to T20 cricket. Moreover, they have Chris Gayle in their side who on his day can wreak havoc on the toughest of oppositions. So taking into account the recent performances of both the teams, it is the West Indies who seem to have the upper hand this time around.
