New Zealand are set to begin their month-long tour of Sri Lanka with a two-match test series. The opening game will be played from August 14 at the Galle International Stadium in Galle. Live telecast of the first test is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM local time each day of the match.

Sri Lanka will count on the likes of Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis and the vastly experienced Angelo Mathews to score the big runs for them in the first test of SL vs NZ 2019 series. Kane Williamson is ranked second in the ICC test rankings for batsmen and he is undoubtedly the key man for New Zealand when it comes to batting. The skipper had a very good World Cup and had top-scored for the team in the last test series versus Bangladesh. Apart from him, the Kiwis will also have their hopes pinned on Ross Taylor and Tom Latham. With the ball, New Zealand will look to Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Neil Wagner to provide them the early breakthroughs. Wagner topped the wickets charts against Bangladesh and he will be expected to carry that form into this match. Once the ball gets soft and older, Mitchell Santner could also cause a few problems to the Sri Lankan batsmen.
