Sri Lanka levelled the series with a 26 run (DLS) victory on Thursday after Australia won the first match by 2 runs (DLS) on Tuesday. Read on as we preview this ODI. Sri Lanka’s victory in Kandy was all the more incredible as it was done without their best bowler, all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga. Confidence will be flowing through the squad but they will need to raise their level again in this ODI.
Australia will have been hurt by the defeat in the second ODI and will be very focused ahead of this game. If one of their batters can produce a big score then they should have enough to get a victory.

The home side were forced into one change from the team who took the field in the first ODI in Kandy. Star player Wanindu Hasaranga missed out through a groin injury with left-arm spinner Jeffrey Vandersay taking his spot. We do not expect Hasaranga to be risked ahead of this game.
Sri Lanka have won three of their last five ODIs and have been impressive in this series so far. They are targeting back to back ODI wins for the first time this year.

Australia chose to select two frontline spinners in Kandy and gave a debut to Matthew Kuhnemann. He was one of three changes to the XI with Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Agar and Jhye Richardson dropping out. Travis Head and Mitchell Swepson joined Kuhnemann in the side and we do not envisage any changes ahead of this match.
Australia have lost three of their last four ODIs and will be disappointed by their batting on Tuesday. However, their bowling attack was impressive in that game.
