RSA vs WI Betting Tips

  • Aiden Markram scored over 150 runs in the First Test and we are backing the right-handed opener to be South Africa’s highest run scorer in this game.
  • Kagiso Rabada will get some real pace from this surface and he is a strong choice for South Africa’s top wicket taker against West Indies.
  • Alzarri Joseph is a fine bowler across all formats and we expect him to bowl with accuracy and speed at this venue. He is our pick for West Indies’ top wicket taker in this Test.

SA vs WI 2nd Test Match Prediction & Betting Tips

South Africa will take on West Indies at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. The Second Test of the two-match series gets underway at 10:00 local time on Wednesday 8th March

South Africa

After complaining about a slight groin injury during the First Test in Centurion, South Africa will be without Anrich Nortje - one of their leading bowlers across all formats. Gerald Coetzee and Tony de Zorzi both made their Test debuts in the First Test and will keep their places for this game.

SA Team Batting

The opening pair of the left-handed Dean Elgar and right-handed Aiden Markram were too strong for West Indies on Day 1, putting on 141 for the first wicket. Markram went on to hit 115 before making 47 in the second innings and the openers will be crucial to South Africa’s chances again in this match.

SA Team Bowling

South Africa’s pace bowling attack were at their best at Centurion with Anrich Nortje standing out with 5-36 in the first innings before Kagiso Rabada took 6-50 in the second innings. Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee will both enjoy the conditions in Johannesburg.

SA Team Form

South Africa are now unbeaten in their last two Tests after losing the four previous matches in this format.

West Indies

Hopes were high for the visitors ahead of the First Test and they fought hard at times. Ultimately, they lost the game after giving up a first innings deficit of 130 runs but there were positives for the team to take into this clash at the Wanderers Stadium.

WI Team Batting

West Indies were well set on 169-3, responding to South Africa’s first innings total of 342, before a collapse saw them lose their final seven wickets for only 43 runs. There were half centuries for Raymon Reifer and Jermaine Blackwood across the first Test.

WI Team Bowling

Once again, Alzarri Joseph was the leader of West Indies’ bowling attack and he took seven wickets across the first game of the series including a five-wicket haul in the first innings. Kemar Roach will cause problems on this pitch and also took a five-wicket haul in the First Test.

WI Team Form

West Indies have shown improvements over the last 12 months in Test cricket but do tend to come up short against the stronger sides.

SA vs WI, The Wanderers Stadium Pitch Report

The match will be played at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. This venue is famed for the pace through the air and bounce off the wicket. We expect a par first innings score of 350 in this Test.

🏆 South Africa vs West Indies Prediction

Although South Africa came away from Centurion with an 87-run victory, West Indies had their moments, particularly when they bowled out the hosts for only 116 in the second innings. The absence of Anrich Nortje will make South Africa’s attack weaker but they still have one of the finest bowling units in Test cricket. We are predicting a close contest but expect South Africa to have enough quality across their side to get another win.
