The Qualifier 2 of the Bangladesh Premier League 2019-20 will see Rajshahi Royals face off against Chattogram Challengers. The match will be played on January 15 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Live telecast of this penultimate game of the tournament is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM local time.
Rajshahi Royals suffered a 27-run loss against Khulna Tigers in the Qualifier 1 and will now face Chattogram Challengers who secured a seven-wicket win over Dhaka Platoon in the Eliminator. The Royals, after opting to field first, kept the Tigers to a manageable 158 but a shoddy batting performance saw them fold for 131. The Challengers, on the other hand, had a contrasting outing the other day. They were disciplined with the ball and restricted Dhaka to 144 before their top-order batsmen made short work of the target to complete the chase in the 18th over.

Andre Russell: The captain has the ability to change the course of the game with the bat in just a couple of overs. He is yet to get going this season and the team will be hoping that he has saved his best for the last. Russell is also Rajshahi's best bowler with 11 wickets in as many matches.

All-rounder Ziaur Rahman was promoted to the opening slot and could be used as a pinch-hitter again depending on the game situation. Imrul Kayes and Mahmudullah will continue to bat at their usual number three and four positions. Rubel Hossain will lead the team's bowling attack with Mehedi Hasan Rana likely to partner him in the powerplay.

Imrul Kayes: With 437 runs at an impressive average of 54.62, Imrul Kayes is among the top five batsmen this BPL. The left-handed batsman has hit four half-centuries which includes the unbeaten knock of 67 in one of the earlier encounters against Rajshahi Royals.
Rubel Hossain: He is one of the best bowlers in the tournament having picked 18 wickets in 12 matches at a decent economy of 7.24. The fast bowler took 3-20 last week against the Royals and he will look to do the damage again when the two teams meet on Wednesday.
Mehedi Hasan Rana: He has had an excellent BPL with the ball, picking up 17 wickets in 9 matches at an economy of 7. The left-arm quick has notched up a couple of four-wicket hauls - 4/23 versus Sylhet Thunder and 4/28 versus Cumilla Warriors.

Chattogram Challengers won eight and lost four out of their twelve league-stage matches to finish third on the BPL 07 points table. They had a terrific start to the season, winning five of their first six encounters before inconsistency crept into their performances and denied them to finish at the top of the table.
