Perth Scorchers have been one of the teams hit hardest by international call-ups, with Mitchell Marsh, Jhye Richardson and Jason Behrendorff all in the original Australian ODI squad to face India and Shaun Marsh already away having been in the test team too. When Ashton Turner replaced the ill Mitchell Marsh in the ODI squad that meant five Scorchers unavailable.

Cameron Bancroft’s return from his ball-tampering ban has helped to combat that, however, and Turner was released from the ODI squad to play a starring role against the Sydney Sixers too. Matt Kelly replaced Aaron Hardie last time out, and the resurgent Scorchers could be unchanged to face Hobart.

Ashton Turner’s return from the Australian ODI squad was a boost for the Scorchers ahead of their previous game. He went on to score 60 against the Sydney Sixers and his last four innings have now produced scores of 60*, 47, 43* and 60.

Cameron Bancroft has set about restoring his reputation after his ball-tampering ban, meanwhile. He scored 59 in the win against Melbourne Stars and blasted an unbeaten 87 from 61 balls in the win against Sydney Sixers.

Andrew Tye has taken ten wickets, meanwhile, including six from his last two matches to prove his form. He took 4-18 from four overs against Melbourne Stars and followed that up with 2-33 last time out.

Nathan Coulter-Nile has gone wicketless in the last two matches, but he does have eight so far this season and scored 20 with the bat the last time these teams faced each other as well.

Perth Scorchers have roared back into form in their last two games, putting a three-match losing streak behind them. The Scorchers were guilty of below-par batting in defeats to Hobart, when they last met, Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat.

Cameron Bancroft and Ashton Turner have led the charge since, however, while Andrew Tye has been in the wickets. Against Melbourne Stars, Tye claimed 4-18 and Bancroft’s half-century earned a six-wicket win. Last time out, against Sydney Sixers, Tye took two more wickets and Bancroft hammered an unbeaten 87 as the Scorchers chased 178 to win by seven wickets – Turner weighing in with 60 too.
