Peshawar Zalmi are favorites to win
Peshawar Zalmi are bidding for back-to-back wins at this early stage of the 2021 Pakistan Super League when they take on Quetta Gladiators. The match, at Karachi’s National Stadium, is scheduled for February 26 and will start at 20:00 local time.
Zalmi hit 197/4, with Tom Kohler-Cadmore hitting a half-century and Haider Ali smashing 24* from eight balls, as they beat Multan Sultans last time out. It was the perfect response to their four-wicket defeat to Lahore Qalandars, in which they only managed 140/6 from their 20 overs.
Quetta Gladiators are without a win so far, meanwhile. They were bowled out for 121 in their opening loss to Karachi Kings and could not defend 178/6 in a nine-wicket defeat to Lahore Qalandars. To make matters worse, Chris Gayle – who has top-scored in each of those matches for Quetta – is now on international duty.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore hit a half-century after replacing Ravi Bopara last time out. It was a bold decision after Bopara’s half-century in the opening loss, but it was a gamble that paid off for Zalmi who could now be unchanged for this game. Unlike Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman is still at the Pakistan Super League having been overlooked for Afghanistan’s test squad for the series against Zimbabwe.
Peshawar Zalmi needed a win but earned exactly that last time out, ending their PSL losing streak. After failing to defend a lowly 140/6 in their first game, against Lahore Qalandars, they then hit 197/4 in a brilliant chase last time out. Tom Kohler-Cadmore scored a half-century.

Sarfaraz Ahmed and Kamran Akmal both cost nine credits and have both performed similarly so far. Both are capable of bigger and better too, so either would be a good pick. There is little between them and it might be worth selecting both.
Batsmen
Chris Gayle is absent and Faf du Plessis is not listed. Tom Banton is out of form, meanwhile. That does not leave much, but Haider Ali found form down the order last time out to justify his inclusion. Prior to Ali, Imam-ul-Haq and Tom Kohler-Cadmore had set the tone and both are good value at 8.5 credits apiece. With no Gayle, Tom Banton needs to step up and may still be worth the gamble at nine credits.
