Perth Scorchers women were humiliated in the first game by defending champs Brisbane Heat and they’ll be hoping that it was just an off day. With Sophie Devine, Beth Mooney and Amy Jones at the top, they have an impeccable batting order. The problem for Perth Scorchers, however will be lack of experience in their lower batting order. Same goes with their bowling department, who lacks international quality. The inclusion of Sarah Glenn is a welcome move but Perth Scorchers would not want to over rely on her.

Hobart Hurricanes had a horrific last season and the start this season hasn’t been that promising either. Their lost against Adelaid Strikers are evident of the fact that they can be in for another tough season. Hobart included Rachel Priest and Chloe Tyron to strengthen their batting order. They along with Hayley Matthews and Nicola Carey will be key to Hobart’s performance in the tournament. With Belinda Vakarewa, Amy Smith and Brooke Hepburn in their kitty, they do have a pretty decent bowling attack. If all of Hobart’s player can deliver as per their potential, they could prove be a tough challenge for the oppositions
