Pakistan have made a few changes to their preliminary CWC19 squad. Pace bowlers Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir, who were both ignored initially, have now been included and so is batsman Asif Ali with the aim of bolstering the team's middle-order batting. Faheem Ashraf, Abid Ali and Junaid Khan were picked in the squad earlier but they will be making way for the three recent inclusions.

Pakistan have a formidable batting line-up and the likes of Fakhar Zaman, Imam-up-Haq, Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik will be vital to the team's chances in World Cup 2019. Babar Azam, the only Pakistani batsman to feature on the list of world's top ten ODI batsmen, topped the runs charts in the recent ODI series against England and the team will want him to warm-up with a good knock. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-up-Haq will also look to carry their impressive form from the England ODIs while Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed will hold fort in the middle order. Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir and the vastly experienced Wahab Riaz form a threatening pace attack. Though Hasan Ali could not make much of an impact against England, he is likely to return good figures against Afghanistan. Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim, who was Pakistan's most successful bowler in the England series, are the go-to spinners in the side.

PAK Recent Form

Pakistan have received a drubbing at the hands of England in the recently concluded ODI series. Although their batsmen did a pretty good job, their bowlers were not able to adapt to the English conditions which eventually resulted in their 0-4 whitewash. Sunday's 54-run defeat at Leeds means that Pakistan have now lost 12 out of the 14 completed one-day internationals they have played this year and the last 10 on the bounce.
