Our Pick Otago Volts are favorites to win
After thrashing Auckland in their previous match, Otago will look to continue their winning run as they take on Canterbury in the 4th match of the Big Bash League. The match will be played on 29th December and is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM local time.
Otago will be playing their second game in two days and will be very confident, especially after the way their performed against Auckland.
The batting for Otago was exceptional in the last game, something we can expect from them for this match as well. Hemish Rutherfort, Neil Broom, Nick Kelly batted well but it was the scintillating show from Llew Johnson that helped them reach a massive 219.
In the bowling department, Jacob Duffy, Matthew Bacon, Anaru Kitchen were terrific in the last game. Yes, Mitchel McClenaghan was expensive but we expect him to perform better in the next game. Overall, Otago look a very strong team and they certainly are the team to beat of the tournament.
Canterbury had a disappointing last season and they’ll hope to deliver show this time around.
They have a decent batting in Chad Brown, Jack Boyle, Leo Carter, Cole McConchie and Cam Fletcher while Andrew Ellis, Henry Shipley, Todd Astle, Will Williams and ED Nuttall will take Canterbury’s charge with the ball. Looking at their team they do have some quality in their squad but Otago at the moment are looking very strong in comparison to Canterbury
Sky Sports will broadcast the tournament in New Zealand and Australia while Star Sports have the broadcasting rights in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Maldives. Both captains will look to bat first on this wicket thus they’d want the coin to go in their favour
The wicket is a belter with lots of runs for the batsmen. Bowlers will have a hard time here.
It’ll be a cold day but thankfully rain is not expected to play the spoilsport.

Otago will be playing the same squad that took on Auckland but we might see a couple of changes for their upcoming game against Canterbury. Travis Muller and Josh Finnie were the two players to miss out against Auckland. They might get their chance against Canterbury.
Otago will be backing their second game on consecutive days. They thrashed Auckland in their previous game and will be high on confidence.

Canterburry has announced their 13 man squad to take on Otago on 29th December. The core of the team is pretty much the same that played the last season but the addition of New Zealand superstar Matt Henry for Super Smash 2020-21 will be a big boost for the team.
Canterburry will be playing their first game of the tournament so their form cannot be assessed but they didn’t performed well in the last season as well and finished 5th.

Otago are 1.80 to win with Bet 365 while you’ll get odds of 2.0 on Canterbury. On Betway, Otago can be backed as the winner at 1.83 while Canterbury are getting odds of 1.90
Otago looks a very strong team and the way they decimated Auckland is a warning signs for their opposition. Canterbury too have a decent side but we don’t see them on same page in terms of quality as of Otago. We expect Otago to continue their winning run
Wicket Keeper
Matt Renwick at 8.0 is a terrific pick from this section. He looked in good touch in the match aganst Auckland thus he’s our preferred pick.
Batsmen
Neil Broom and Nick Kelly at 9.0, Chad Bowes at 9.5 and Llew Johnson at 8.0 form a strong batting order. All of them have been in some form of late. Nick Kelly and Neil Broom are the two top performers for Otago while Llew Johnson played a blinder in the next match.
All rounder
Anaru Kitchen and Todd Astle at 9.5 will balance our side. Todd Astle is one of the best spinner in New Zealand while Anaru Kitchen has been terrific of late.
Bowlers
Matt Henry, Mitchell McClenaghan, Jacon Duffy ad E Nuttall at 8.5 will complete a strong team. Matt Henry and Mitch McClenaghan can rush the batsmen with pace while Jacob Duffy bowled well in the last match. ED Nuttall is Canterbury’s best bowler.
