Oman Team News & Playing 11
Batsmen Zeeshan Maqsood and Aqib Ilyas have been ruled out of the tournament due to injuries and in their absence, Oman will now depend heavily on Khawar Ali, Mehran Khan, Khurram Nawaz and Naseem Khushi to perform well with the bat. Khawar Ali is one of their leading run-scorers in T20Is with 214 runs and the onus will be on him to take Oman to a flying start. Naseem Khushi and Mehran Khan are both hard-hitters and the team will be hoping for some fireworks from them. Bilal Khan is the team's best bowler in the T20 format with 21 wickets in 16 matches. The fast bowler took seven wickets in eight matches in the 2017 Desert T20 Challenge to finish as the second-best bowler of the tournament and he seems to be the main threat in Oman's bowling attack. Mohammad Nadeem and skipper Ajay Lalcheta are the other bowlers to watch out for.
Oman Predicted Playing 11
Khawar Ali, Fayyaz Butt, Mehran Khan, Jatinder Singh, Khurram Nawaz, Naseem Khushi (wk), Aamir Kaleem, Ajay Lalcheta (c), Mohammad Nadeem, Bilal Khan, Kaleemullah
Ireland Team News & Playing 11
Ireland's batting is going to depend primarily on Paul Stirling, Andrew Balbirnie and Kevin O'Brien. Stirling is the team's leading run-getter in T20 internationals with 1181 runs which includes eight half-centuries. The skipper will have to lead from the front and ensure that his team gets off to a good start. Balbirnie and O'Brien have been around for a while now and Ireland will be hoping for strong contributions from these two experienced campaigners. In terms of bowling, it will be up to Boyd Rankin, George Dockrell and Peter Chase to do the job for their team. Dockrell has taken the most T20I wickets for Ireland - 59 in 54 matches - and the left-arm spinner could be very effective in these conditions. Chase was their best bowler with four wickets in two matches in last year's home T20I series versus Afghanistan and he along with Rankin are expected to make the early strikes in the powerplay.
Ireland Predicted Playing 11
Paul Stirling (c), Stuart Thompson, Andrew Balbirnie, Lorcan Tucker, Kevin O'Brien, Stuart Poynter (wk), Simi Singh, George Dockrell, Joshua Little, Boyd Rankin, Peter Chase

OMAN vs IRE Head to Head
Oman and Ireland have met just once in the twenty-over format of the game - in the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 held in India. The match was played in the month of March at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Ireland opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted 154/5 on the scoreboard. Oman's run-chase was not smooth at all but they managed to get over the line in the end to win the match by two wickets and two balls to spare.

Oman vs Ireland Betting Odds
Ireland begin as the bookmakers' favorites to win this second match of the Oman Quadrangular T20 international series and they are being offered at odds of 1.50 on Betway, Bet365 and Betfair. Oman are the underdogs for this game at a higher price of 2.50 on Betway, 2.62 on Bet365 and 2.72 on Betfair.
Oman vs Ireland Prediction
Ireland are the only team in this tournament to have test status and there will be pressure on them to prove that they are actually worthy of it. Oman are playing in their own conditions and Ireland will be aware of the fact that they ended up losing both their warm-up matches against them before the start of the tournament. Oman also got the better of Ireland in the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 in India and that should give them plenty of confidence heading into this game. However, injuries to Zeeshan Maqsood and Aqib Ilyas means that they have lost quite a bit of firepower in their batting department. Ireland, on the other hand, are nearly at full-strength and there is a lot more quality and variety in their bowling attack. So although Ireland are playing in foreign conditions, we expect them to kick-off their campaign with a win.
Back Ireland to beat Oman at 1.50 with Betway, Bet365 and Betfair.
