New Zealand are favorites to win
New Zealand thrashed India in their first warm-up match at London and they will look to build on the momentum when they face-off against the West Indies at the County Ground in Bristol. The ninth warm-up match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be played on May 28 with live telecast scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM local time.

Live Streaming: Bet365, Hotstar, Foxtel, Sky Go, Now TV
In the game's 50-over format, the side batting second at this ground has had more success than the side batting first. Also in the last week's warm-up game played here, Afghanistan registered a successful chase against Pakistan. So it won’t be surprising to see the toss-winning captain opting to bowl first.

Tom Latham, who picked up a finger injury in the match against Australia XI, has not recovered completely and will therefore miss this warm-up match against the West Indies. Even his availability for the team's opening encounter against Sri Lanka is not confirmed as of yet. Tom Blundell will continue to keep wickets in Latham's absence. The rest of the New Zealand squad seems fit.
The destructive opening pair of Martin Guptill and Colin Munro along with Kane Williamson and middle-order batsman Ross Taylor are the key men for New Zealand in terms of batting. Taylor is ranked third in the ICC ODI batting rankings. He and skipper Williamson both had a good outing against India, scoring 71 and 67 respectively. Guptill has two hundreds in his previous three ODIs. The in-form batsman will look to score big this time around after failing to convert his start in the last Warm up game of World Cup 2019. Trent Boult was being touted as one of the most threatening bowlers before the start of the tournament, and the pacer proved that correct as he destroyed the Indian top order in London. Boult, the second-best ODI bowler in the world, claimed a four-fer against India and he will be expected to deliver another match-winning performance. James Neesham too was impressive with figures of 6-1-26-3 and while veteran Tim Southee was very economical.
New Zealand have played eleven one-day internationals this year out which they have won seven and lost four. Prior to the dominating six-wicket win over India in Saturday's warm-up match, the Black Caps had beaten Bangladesh 3-0 at home which means that they now have four consecutive wins in the fifty-over format of the game. Their bowlers set up the victory for them in the recent warm-up match, bowling India out inside 40 overs for a below-par total of 179.

West Indies are currently sweating over the fitness of their premier pace bowler Shannon Gabriel who left the field after not being able to complete his over during the warm-up match against South Africa on Sunday. He seems to have suffered some kind of strain which makes him a doubtful starter for this match. The extent of his injury is not known yet and the Windies will be hoping for him to make a full recovery before their first match in the tournament proper against Pakistan.
Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope and Andre Russell are the powerhouses in the West Indian batting line-up. Gayle is the second-highest run-scorer for the team in the 50-over format. The opener made a fantastic return to international cricket earlier this year with stunning performances against England and he will be a big threat to the bowlers on this good batting surface. Russell, who had a terrific IPL season, could the take the game away from New Zealand if he gets into the groove. Shannon Gabriel suffered a strain in the last warm-up match, and in case he misses out, it will be up to the likes of Sheldon Cottrell, Jason Holder, Kemar Roach, Oshane Thomas and Ashley Nurse to exert pressure on the Kiwis with the ball. Holder is the most experienced bowler in this West Indian pace attack while Cottrell has been impressive in his short career. Off-spinner Ashley Nurse will be the one to watch out for in the middle overs.
West Indies' warm-up game against South Africa on Sunday had to be called off due to persistent rain. Only 12.4 overs were possible during which the West Indian bowlers struggled to control the onslaught by the South African opening batsmen. Before coming into the World Cup warm-ups, the Windies had played a tri-series involving Bangladesh and Ireland. They set up a meeting with Bangladesh in the final of that series at Malahide but ended up losing by five wickets.

New Zealand and West Indies have played 64 one-day internationals against each other. 27 of those have been won by the former and 30 by the latter with the remaining 7 all having ended in washouts.
New Zealand have beaten the West Indies six times in their previous seven ODI encounters including the last four straight.
New Zealand secured a comfortable 66-run victory (D/L method) when they last played an ODI against the Windies in a rain-hit clash at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch in December 2017.

New Zealand, after their comfortable win over India, begin as the bookmakers' favorites to win this warm-up match. They are being offered at odds of 1.64 on Betrally and 1.66 on Betway and Bet365. West Indies are the underdogs for this game at a higher price of 2.10 with Betway, 2.20 with Bet365 and 2.15 with Betrally.
New Zealand crushed India, the second-favorites to win the 2019 Cricket World Cup, in their first warm-up game at the Kennington Oval in London and that win will surely give their confidence a lot of boost. They also have the advantage of knowing the conditions better than the West Indies whose first warm-up fixture against South Africa lasted only 12.4 overs, depriving them of sufficient match practice. Although the Windies do have an explosive batting line-up, their bowling is simply not at par with that of the Kiwis. New Zealand have a very strong recent ODI head-to-head record and we expect them to continue their dominance over the West Indies.
