New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI Match Prediction
World Cup runners-up New Zealand could wrap up a series whitewash against India when they face each other in the third and final game of this ODI series. The series concludes at the Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, on February 11 and the live action starts at 15:00 local time.
New Zealand won the first two matches in contrasting style – chasing a national-record 348/6 thanks to Ross Taylor’s unbeaten century in the first game and then defending 273/8 in the second match as Taylor made an unbeaten 73 and debutant Kyle Jamieson impressed with bat and ball.
India, meanwhile, who are without key players such as Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya, have rued those absences. Shreyas Iyer scored 103 in the first match and 52 in the second, but India have failed to take advantage of some dominant positions in both games so far.

The afternoon will be humid in Tauranga but conditions should otherwise but sunny and clear with no chance of rain.
Pitch Condition
As the T20 match there showed in this tour, the Bay Oval can be a good batting wicket but the wind can be a factor to consider too.

New Zealand Team News & Playing 11
NZ Team News
After good form for the New Zealand A team, Mark Chapman was selected as New Zealand’s spin option last time out with Mitchell Santner struggling with illness. Ish Sodhi and Blair Tickner have also been added to the squad, with Tim Southee and Scott Kuggeleijn both batting illness too. Kane Williamson has not featured so far due to a shoulder injury – with the series won, the captain might not be risked.
NZ Key Players
Ross Taylor: Started the series with a match-winning unbeaten century and then scored a vital 73* from 74 balls last time out to continue his superb form. He now has 21 ODI centuries and 51 half-centuries.
Henry Nicholls: Fell short of adding to his tally of consecutive half-centuries in List A cricket last time out when he was out for 41 but he still once again proved his worth in a good opening partnership.
Kyle Jamieson: Marked his debut with a man-of-the-match award last time out. He scored 25* from 24 balls batting at number ten, and followed that up with figures of 2-42 with the ball – both vital in New Zealand’s victory.
NZ Team Form
New Zealand’s last three ODI wins have all come against India – two in this series, with Ross Taylor’s batting form central to that, and the victory in last summer’s World Cup semi-final. This is their first ODI series since losing the final of that World Cup in a super over.
New Zealand Predicted Playing 11
Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls, Tom Blundell, Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (c, wk), Colin de Grandhomme, Mark Chapman, Kyle Jamieson, Blair Tickner, Hamish Bennett, Ish Sodhi
India Team News & Playing 11
IND Team News
In the absence of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, India have handed Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal the chance to show their value at the top of the batting order – both men making their ODI debuts. There could be a re-think for this final game, however, with KL Rahul a contender to move up the order and Rishabh Pant keen for an opportunity to return behind the stumps. Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini both came in to the team las time out and probably did enough to retain their places.
IND Key Players
KL Rahul: His batting form ran out last time out, as he fell for just four, but he did score 88* from 64 balls in the first game – the tenth time he has reached 50 in ODI cricket, of which he has converted three into centuries.
Virat Kohli: Started the series with the 58th ODI half-century of his career and he has also scored 43 centuries. He now has 11,858 runs in ODI cricket.
Shreyas Iyer: Scored a century in the opening game of this tournament and then hit 52 last time out to continue his good batting form. He now has seven ODI 50s and one century in 15 innings in the format.
IND Team Form
India’s winning streak – following comeback wins against West Indies and Australia – has ended in this series. Their batting was excellent first up, led by Shreyas Iyer’s century and Virat Kohli and KL Rahul’s own contributions too, as they hit 347/4. The four-wicket defeat will have stung as a result and they could not make an excellent bowling performance count last time out either.
India had New Zealand on the rocks at 197/8, but an unbroken ninth wicket partnership left them chasing 274 to win and Iyer and Jadeja’s half-centuries were not enough to rescue an otherwise below-par batting performance. Jadeja was last man out as India fell for 251.
India Predicted Playing 11
Prithvi Shaw, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli (c), Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Manish Pandey, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah
New Zealand vs India Head to Head
Two wins from two and three in a row in this fixture mean New Zealand have now won 48 one-day internationals against India compared to 55 Indian wins. Ross Taylor has scored 74, 109* and 73* in the last three matches between the two to help New Zealand to those three wins, though the bowlers must take credit for defending relatively low totals in two of those.
