New Zealand vs India 2nd ODI Match Prediction
Hosts New Zealand will look to wrap up a series victory with a game to spare when they take on India in the second match of their three-game ODI series. The match takes place at Eden Park, Auckland, on February 8 and the live action starts at 15:00 local time.
India won all five T20i matches to kick off this tour and posted 347/4 in their first ODI innings last time out – led by Shreyas Iyer’s 103 from 107 balls. New Zealand finally saw a winning position out, however, as Ross Taylor hit 109* from 84 balls in a four-wicket win.
It was New Zealand’s first ODI since losing in last summer’s World Cup final, and followed their victory against India in the semi-finals of that tournament. India will now have to come from behind to win an ODI series for the third consecutive time – after similar stories against West Indies and Australia – if they are to maintain their post-World Cup winning form.

Kane Williamson missed the first game of this series and is expected to miss the second too. The Black Caps could stick with the same batting line-up after their highest successful chase, but Scott Kuggeleijn and Kyle Jamieson are bowling options to consider as they look to be tighter than before. It would be an ODI debut for Jamieson if he plays.
NZ Key Players
Ross Taylor: Proved his enduring class last time out when he hit ten fours and four sixes on his way to a match-winning, unbeaten century. It was his 21st ODI century, and he also has 50 50s to his name in the format.
Henry Nicholls: Followed up his good List A batting form with Canterbury by scoring 78 in the first match of this series. It means his last four one-day innings have brought scores of 120, 62, 55 and 78.
Tom Latham: Took over the captaincy in Kane Williamson’s absence and had a big impact last time out, scoring 69 from 48 balls in a big partnership with Ross Taylor. It was his 16th ODI half-century and he has passed 100 on four occasions too.
NZ Team Form
This series is New Zealand’s first set of ODI matches since the World Cup final at Lord’s, where they lost in a super-over to England. They immediately set about rebuilding, with Ross Taylor’s unbeaten century in a total of 348/6 helping them to a four-wicket win – their highest ever successful chase. Henry Nicholls (78) and Tom Latham (69) also played key roles in that chase.

With Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma out injured, Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal made their NZ vs IND ODI debuts for India last time out as they opened the batting together. It meant KL Rahul in the middle order, where his superb batting form continued, and the same top five could be retained. Virat Kohli: It says it all that his 58th ODI half-century last time out actually diminished his batting average in the format. He also has 43 ODI centuries to his name and has scored 11,843 runs at an average of 59.81.
Jasprit Bumrah: Still the number-one ranked bowler in ODI cricket, the paceman has taken 104 wickets in 62 ODI matches and maintains a brilliant economy rate too.

India, unlike New Zealand, have had plenty of ODI matches since the World Cup. They have had to come from behind to win their last two series, however, against West Indies and Australia and they will need to do the same if they are to win this one too.
Shreyas Iyer scored 103 at Seddon Park, while Virat Kohli (51) and KL Rahul (88*) also contributed to a score of 347/4 last time out, but they were unable to defend it despite some late wickets as they fell to a four-wicket loss.

New Zealand vs India Head to Head
