Having already won the series, the hosts could decide to rest Trent Boult and give Tim Southee some game time.

Martin Guptill is having a fantastic series and is looking in ominous form having cracked a ton in both the matches. He will now be joined by the explosive Colin Munro at the top who can give Bangladesh plenty of headaches if not removed early on. Ross Taylor is another danger man in this batting line-up. The veteran has scored 66 runs in the series and is yet to be dismissed. He is also the leading ODI run-getter at this ground with 436 runs in six matches. Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry troubled the visitors in the first two games and they are likely to trouble them again at Dunedin. Ferguson has taken five wickets so far while Boult and Henry have four and three respectively. Boult is the highest wicket-taker at this ground in ODIs with 14 wickets in five matches and he will be the most threatening of the trio if he plays on Wednesday.

The emphatic eight-wicket victory at Christchurch was New Zealand's sixth win in the ten one-day internationals they have played so far this year, and all of those have been played at home. The Kiwis started this year with a 3-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka, then lost three on the trot to India but now have three wins in their last four matches. New Zealand have been brilliant with the ball in the ongoing series and they have not really broken a sweat with the bat either.

Bangladesh are going into this game with a couple of injury concerns. Mohammad Mithun, the only batsman in the side who has looked in good form, suffered a hamstring injury while batting in the second ODI at Christchurch. The extent of his injury is unknown and his availability for the third ODI remains doubtful. Mominul Haque is likely to replace Mithun if he is not able to recover in time. Mushfiqur Rahim is also carrying an injury and he too is currently under observation.

Mohammad Mithun has hit a half-century in both the matches and is the only batsman in this Bangladeshi batting group who has looked impressive. However, he has picked up an injury and it will be up to the likes of senior members in Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim to step up and score the big runs in case Mithun gets ruled out. Tamim has scored just 10 runs in the series and the team will be hoping that he fires on Wednesday. Bangladesh will need the likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Mashrafe Mortaza and Mehidy Hasan to bring their A-game into play if they are to have any chance of averting a series whitewash. Rahman was the pick of the bowlers last time with figures of 2-42 from nine overs and the visitors will back the pacer to deliver another good performance. Mehidy Hasan has been pretty economical and the off-spinner will be expected to keep things tight in the middle overs.
