NSW vs CAXI Match Prediction

The opening pair of Carder and Inglis have not looked convincing enough in both the games which is going to put extra pressure on the batsmen to follow. Gibson, Bosisto and Harper made valuable contributions in the first match against Queensland and they will have to bat well again for CAXI's scorecard to look good. Skipper Bosisto was one of their better batsmen last season and he has 109 runs under his belt in the two games combined. So expect him to top-score for CAXI.

Bosisto will turn to Doggett, Short and Hatcher for picking up the wickets and providing CAXI a good start with the ball. Doggett has taken a wicket in each of the two games and has not given much away either. He seems to be the sharpest of the three and could finish with the best bowling figures against NSW. Short has been fairly good with his offspin and he will look to cut down the flow of runs.

Our Prediction

New South Wales have been playing the Australian limited-overs domestic tournament since its inception in 1969 and have won the title ten times and have finished as runners-up on eight occasions. They are the winners of last season and the reigning champions, with a well-balanced team composition, are one of the strongest contenders for the title this year as well.

Cricket Australia XI are the newbies who made their first appearance last year, finishing at the bottom. Aside from being a newcomer, they don't have the luxury that NSW have of playing Australian internationals. They won just one game last year and this year too, they have started off with back-to-back defeats.

NSW also have an upper hand in terms of head-to-head stats. The two teams met for the first time last year and CAXI were blown away by a massive 279 runs.

CAXI will be hungry for a win as a loss here would make it very difficult for them to make a place in the top three. NSW have a strong record in the previous three seasons and we predict them to start off with a win.
