Delhi Bulls are favorites to win
Northern Warriors will take on Delhi Bulls at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Match 4 of the 2022 Abu Dhabi T10 gets underway at 18:15 local time on Thursday 24th November.
It was a disappointing campaign for Northern Warriors in 2021 who won only two games and finished fifth out of six teams with four points. They have the same coach, Faisal Iqbal, as last year but have added some much needed quality to their squad from last year.
Rovman Powell will captain the side for the second successive season and he was one of few positives for the team in 2021. He excelled in the finishers role and hit over 300 runs at a strike-rate of 191.82. Opener Adam Lyth has been very consistent in the Men’s Hundred and T20 Blast competitions over recent years.
Northern Warriors have signed Sri Lankan bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga for this campaign. The spinner took 21 wickets for Deccan Gladiators in 2021 and took the Player of the Series award alongside being the top wicket taker. South Africa’s Wayne Parnell will also be a threat with his left-arm pace.
Northern Warriors lost their final three matches in 2021 but are a much changed side this year.
After finishing second in the group stage and losing the final last year, Delhi Bulls are looking to go one step further in 2022. They have retained their powerful coach-captain relationship of Andy Flower and experienced West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for this campaign.
20 year old Rahmanullah Gurbaz hit three half-centuries in the 2021 tournament and only two players scored more runs than the Afghan left-hander. He will be a big player for the Bulls again alongside Rilee Roussow, Will Jacks, Tom Banton and TIm David.
With the ball, pace bowler Dominic Drakes returns to the time after a very strong 2021. He took two four-wicket hauls across the competition with his best figures of 4-9 coming against Bangla Tigers. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Dwayne Bravo will also be key in this bowling attack.
Delhi Bulls won three games in a row before losing the final to Deccan Gladiators in 2021.
The match will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Stroke makers will enjoy batting on this wicket with plenty of pace coming off the pitch and opportunities for many boundaries.
