NZ vs BAN Betting Tips
Trent Boult lived up to his billing as the ICC ODI number one ranked bowler in the first ODI on Saturday, finishing with figures of 4-27. But in a typical New Zealand performance, nearly all the bowlers chipped in, only Kyle Jamieson unable to pick up any wickets but he still kept his economy at a reasonable rate beneath 3.5 an over.
With the bat, New Zealand’s top order knew there was no rush to reach their target, but that didn’t stop Martin Guptill coming out of the traps in a hurry and smashing four sixes in his 19-ball 38. Henry Nicholls top scored with an unbeaten 49 and ODI debutant Devon Conway was able to bat at Test pace to make 27 with a strike rate of 51.92.
For Bangladesh, the only player to come out of the game with any credit was debutant Mahedi Hasan who had the most impressive economy rate of the bowlers from both sides. He sent down six overs of his off-spin and only went for seventeen runs. The Tigers will need their more experienced players to show up in this game if they are to threaten the Black Caps at all.

New Zealand go into the second of three ODIs against Bangladesh looking to take the series at the earliest attempt. Bangladesh were well beaten in the first ODI, New Zealand bowling out the visitors for 131 before knocking off the target inside 22 overs. Read on as we preview the next ODI between New Zealand and Bangladesh. The match will be played at the Hagley Oval and will get underway at 14:00 local time.
New Zealand continue to be the most underrated side in world cricket. In spite of qualifying for the World Test Championship Final this summer, and only losing the ODI World Cup Final in 2019 due to the boundary countback rule, fans and commentators across the globe continue to underestimate the Black Caps. Trent Boult has led the bowling attack with consistency and penetration since before the 2015 World Cup, Martin Guptill has sixteen ODI centuries at the top of the order, and the only chink in the armour for this series is the absence through injury of capain Kane Williamson.
Bangladesh came into this series on the crest of a wave in this format after whitewashing West Indies, with convincing victories, in all three of the games in the ODI series. However, they are missing star player and ICC ODI number one ranked all-rounder Shakib al Hasan who is on paternity leave, and New Zealand at home are a very different prospect to West Indies away.

NZ vs BAN Toss Prediction
Tom Latham won the toss in Saturday’s game and asked Bangladesh to bat first. We expect whichever captain who wins the toss to elect to field.
Pitch Report
We expect to see a surface where batting isn’t easy for the majority of players but don’t expect Martin Guptill to alter his style of play.
Weather Report
Cloudy and dry but not particularly warm on the south island. High of 11 degrees during the game.

New Zealand Team News & Playing 11
NZ Team News
Ross Taylor could return to the side after he was ruled out of the first ODI due to a hamstring injury. With Williamson already out of the series, the Black Caps may opt to bring back Taylor with his 232 ODI caps at the earliest opportunity.
NZ Key Players
Martin Guptill - The powerful opener has been teeing off at the start of limited overs innings for his country since 2009. However, he hasn’t reached three figures in this format since February 2019, against Bangladesh, in Christchurch. There were signs in his innings on Saturday that he isn’t far away from his best.
Tom Latham - Stepping into the captaincy shoes of Kane Williamson is tough enough but Latham also has the pressure of keeping wicket. Saturday’s game was his 100th in this format, however he hasn’t scored an ODI century since 2017. Will the added scrutiny bring the best out of him?
Trent Boult - Always seems to play the game with a smile on his face and a care-free spirit. But maybe this isn’t surprising as he has 495 international wickets to his name. Don’t be surprised if he brings up the landmark figure of 500 in this game.
NZ Team Form
New Zealand is very strong at home in all formats of the game with ODIs no exception. They have won their last seven successive home ODIs, you have to go all the way back to February 2019 to find the last time they were defeated, against India by 35 runs.
New Zealand Predicted Playing 11
Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls, Ross Taylor, Will Young, Tom Latham (c) (wk) , Jimmy Neesham, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner, Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry, Trent Boult
NZ vs BAN Dream11 Prediction
Wicket-keeper
Liton Das (9) and Mushfiqur Rahim (9) are our wicket keepers. We believe they will both improve on their performances in the first ODI.
Batsmen
Martin Guptill (9.5), Will Young (8) and Tamim Iqbal (9.5) will be our batsmen. Two openers alongside Will Young who has had an excellent run of seasons in domestic cricket and looks the part at international level.
All-rounders
Mitchell Santner (8.5), Jimmy Neesham (9) and Mohammad Saifuddin (9) make up our all-rounders. Not the most spectacular all-rounders in the international game but both New Zealanders are consistent performers in ODIs.
Bowlers
Trent Boult (9.5), Matt Henry (8.5) and Kyle Jamieson (8.5) make up our bowling attack. Boult and Henry expertly used the new ball last time and we expect more from big IPL contract man Kyle Jamieson who is also a handy batsman if required.
Captain/Vice-captain
Trent Boult will be our skipper while Martin Guptill will be his deputy
NZ vs BAN Dream11 Team Prediction
Batsmen:Martin Guptill, Will Young, Tamim Iqbal
All Rounder:Mitchell Santner, Jimmy Neesham, Mohammad Saifuddin

Bangladesh Team News & Playing 11
BAN Team News
The weather in Dunedin during Saturday’s game was a little unlike what the Bangladesh players would normally experience back home, but Christchurch will be even more alien-like conditions. The players who didn’t perform in the first ODI should be given the opportunity to bounce back in this game.
BAN Key Players
Tamim Iqbal - The captain has played 211 ODIs and has 13 centuries to his name in this format. Opening the batting he has the best opportunity to use his experience to set the platform for his teammates. His score of 13 in Saturday’s game was his first under 44 in his last 5 ODIs, a run that includes successive centuries against Zimbabwe.
Mushfiqur Rahim - Another batsman with a wealth of experience but who was flummoxed by the conditions in Dunedin in the first ODI. His career strike rate of 79.06 was nowhere to be seen as he hobbled to 23 runs from 49 balls. Bangladesh will need him to find his form from 2019 when he scored a century against Australia and averaged 50.26.
Mahedi Hasan - although the last game was his ODI debut and he only has four T20I caps to his name, he was the only bowler to prevent the New Zealand batsmen from scoring freely. Bangladesh will need more of the same and hope some of the other bowlers can offer support this time around.
BAN Team Form
The Tigers came into this series with six successive ODI victories to their name against West Indies and Zimbabwe. However, prior to that run, they had lost five successive games in the format to India and Pakistan at the 2019 World Cup and a series to Sri Lanka later that year. New Zealand certainly fit into the latter group of teams.
Bangladesh Predicted Playing 11
Tamim Iqbal (c) , Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah, Mehedi Hasan, Mahedi Hasan, Taksin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Mustafizur Rahman

New Zealand vs Bangladesh Betting Odds
After the big win for New Zealand on Saturday, they are strong favourites again
Who will win New Zealand vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI?
Martin Guptill’s fireworks in Dunedin see him favoured among the batsmen
New Zealand vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI Top Team Batsmen
Guptill, Nicholls and Taylor will be the batsmen we’ll back from New Zealand. If Guptill stays in the middle for 10 overs then Bangladesh will be in real trouble.
For Bangladesh we are backing Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim to produce better returns this time around. The pressure is certainly on Iqbal at the top of the order.
Bangladesh looked like rabbits in the headlight in Saturday’s game and there won’t have been a great amount of time to acclimatise before this fixture. New Zealand are a match for the best teams in the world and their recent record at home across all forms is particularly impressive. We expect the Black Caps to produce a dominant performance again.
