Nepal Team News & Playing 11
NEP Team News
Nepal had made only one change in their side for the last match against Oman - they replaced Abinash Bohara with medium pacer Kamal Singh. The hosts don't have any injury issues to deal with heading into this match and we expect them to retain their entire line-up from last time. Subash Khakurel and captain Gyanendra Malla will continue to open the innings for Nepal while Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane will probably be the new-ball bowlers once again.
NEP Key Players
Gyanendra Malla: After scoring just one run in the first game against Oman, the captain has batted well in the next two games. Gyanendra scored 21 against the USA and struck a fine half-century last time against Oman.
Binod Bhandari: He has looked the most impressive of all the Nepali batsmen in this series. The wicketkeeper is averaging 40 and scored a 79-ball 59 in the 35-run win over the United States last Saturday.
Karan KC: The fast bowler has been the pick of the bowlers for Nepal in this series. Karan has taken eight wickets in three matches at an economy of 4.21 including two four-wicket hauls - against Oman and the USA.
NEP Recent Form
Nepal have blown hot and cold of late when it comes to the game's 50-over format. They have struggled to maintain consistency in their performances and have four wins and as many losses in their last eight one-day internationals. They have played three matches in this home tri-series out of which they have won one and lost two. Nepal lost the opening game of the series against Oman by 18 runs but bounced back with a convincing 35-run win over USA. Their previous encounter was against Oman on Sunday which they ended up losing by eight wickets.
Nepal Predicted Playing 11
Subash Khakurel, Gyanendra Malla (c), Paras Khadka, Dipendra Singh Airee, Aarif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Binod Bhandari (wk), Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kamal Singh, Sushan Bhari
USA Team News & Playing 11
USA Team News
Following the 35-run loss to Nepal, the United States made a change in their line-up for the previous game against Oman. They dropped left-arm fast bowler Elmore Hutchinson and brought in left-arm spinner Nisarg Patel. The latter had a good game with both bat and ball and is likely to be retained for this upcoming match. Monank Patel was promoted to the opening position as Aaron Jones was pushed down into the middle order, and it will be interesting to see whether USA decide to stick to the same opening combination.
USA Key Players
Aaron Jones: He is the second-best batsman in the CWC League Two having scored 410 runs. Jones has hit three half-centuries in the tournament and he is coming off an unbeaten 47 against Oman.
Ian Holland: He is having a pretty good tournament with both bat and ball. Holland has cracked a couple of fifties including 75 in the reverse encounter against Nepal in addition to picking seven wickets in as many matches.
Saurabh Netravalkar: With 18 wickets in 11 matches at an incredible economy of 3.28, Netravalkar is among the tournament's top performers with the ball. The skipper returned impressive figures of 3-37 in the last match against Oman.
USA Recent Form
The United States are currently second on the CWC League Two points table with six wins and five losses from eleven matches. The 92-run loss in the last match against Oman was their fourth successive defeat in the fifty-over format of the game. USA have put up a poor show with the bat on the previous two occasions - they got bowled out for 155 against Nepal and 184 last time against Oman.
USA Predicted Playing 11
Xavier Marshall, Monank Patel, Steven Taylor, Ian Holland, Aaron Jones, Akshay Homraj (wk), Nisarg Patel, Karima Gore, Cameron Stevenson, Rusty Theron, Saurabh Netravalkar (c)
Nepal vs USA Head to Head
United States and Nepal faced each other for the first time in the game's fifty-over format on Saturday. Put into bat first, the home team posted 190 on the board powered by twin fifties from Kushal Malla and Binod Bhandari in the middle order. USA, in reply, lost half of their side inside the first 11 overs. Ian Holland's resilient 75 kept them in the hunt for a while before a late-order collapse saw them fall short of their target by 35 runs.
🏆 Nepal vs USA Prediction
Both the teams are coming off a defeat in their last match. The United States, however, will be feeling a lot more pressure as compared to Nepal after having suffered defeats in their last four matches. Their batsmen have struggled to score runs in the previous two matches and they will have to put much more effort in this department if they are to beat the home team. Nepal look a better balanced side and boast more quality in their bowling attack with the likes of Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC. They even have the home advantage in their favor which is another reason why we are backing them to win this match.
