Toss Prediction
Docklands Stadium sports a pitch that, in recent times, has tended to offer more assistance to the bowlers during the second-half of a game. And also since the last two BBL matches played at this venue were both won by the side batting first, the team that wins the 'bat flip' is likely to bat first.

Melbourne Renegades Team News & Playing 11
MLR Team News
Melbourne Renegades will miss the services of opening batsmen Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris, both of whom are away on national duty. Daniel Christian is expected to act as the interim skipper in the absence of Finch. Mackenzie Harvey is injured which means Cameron White could open the innings with Tim Ludeman. Allrounder Will Sutherland is carrying a back injury and so he will be playing purely as a batsman.
MLR Key Players
In the absence of Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris, Melbourne Renegades will rely heavily on Cameron White, Tom Cooper and Dan Christian to score the big runs. White was one of their most consistent batsman last season where he scored 304 runs which included three half-centuries. Christian played a massive role in Hobart Hurricanes' success in the previous edition and the all-rounder's skills with both bat and ball will be crucial for the Renegades this year. Mohammad Nabi seems to be the team's biggest strength when it comes to bowling. The Afghan off-spinner was outstanding last term with an economy of 5.76 and he is likely to finish with the best figures in this match. Kane Richardson and Jack Wildermuth are the key men in this pace attack. Richardson took 12 wickets in the tournament last year and he will be backed by his team to strike early in the powerplay.
MLR Recent Form
Melbourne Renegades won six and lost four out of ten matches during the league stage of the last season and finished third on the points table. After winning four of their first five matches, they lost their way in the middle with three consecutive defeats but managed to pull themselves back on the winning track thereafter. The Renegades beat Brisbane Heat in their final league game before being knocked out by Adelaide Strikers in the semi-final.
Melbourne Renegades Predicted Playing 11
Cameron White, Tim Ludeman (wk), Tom Cooper, Dan Christian (c), Mohammad Nabi, Samiullah Shenwari, Will Sutherland, Jack Wildermuth, Cameron Boyce, Chris Tremain, Kane Richardson
Perth Scorchers Team News & Playing 11
PRS Team News
Left-arm fast bowler Joel Paris has picked up a back injury due to which he will have to miss the first few games for Perth Scorchers. Two others who will not be a part of the starting eleven for this match are Shaun Marsh who is currently in the Australian test team and Cameron Bancroft who is serving suspension. Josh Inglis is likely to take up the wicketkeeping duties in addition to opening the batting.
PRS Key Players
Perth Scorchers will be counting on the likes of Michael Klinger, David Willey and Mitchell Marsh to deliver the goods with the bat. Opening batsman Klinger had an ordinary BBL season last time and he will be looking to make amends this year. Willey and Marsh are not only capable batsmen but they will also have a big role to play with the ball as well. Ashton Turner scored the most runs for the team last year which shows he is no mug with the bat. Andrew Tye was their best bowler with 16 wickets in 6 matches and the pacer will pose a serious threat to the Melbourne Renegades. Nathan Coulter-Nile and Jason Behrendorff will probably share the new ball and the Scorchers will want these two to do some damage early on. Ashton Agar could also be handy on this surface which is expected to offer a fair amount of support to the spinners as well.
PRS Recent Form
Although Perth Scorchers could not make it to the final, they still had a pretty successful season last year. They topped the league standings with eight wins and a couple of losses from their ten matches. Their campaign got off to an excellent start with wins in their first four matches. Only Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder were able to beat the Scorchers during the league round. They won their last three league encounters before suffering a 71-run thrashing at the hands of Hobart Hurricanes in the semi-final.
Perth Scorchers Predicted Playing 11
Michael Klinger, Josh Inglis (wk), Sam Whiteman, David Willey, Mitchell Marsh (c), Ashton Agar, Ashton Turner, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Andrew Tye, Usman Qadir, Jason Behrendorff
