Melbourne Renegades Women vs Perth Scorchers Women, WBBL 2020
Melbourne Renegades women will take on Perth Scorchers women in the 10th game of the women’s Big Bash League. The match will be played on the Drummoyne Oval, Sydney and is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM local time
Melbourne Renegades was expecting a wining start to the tournament but unfortunately both of their matches were washed out due to rain. Renegades are without the services of their leading run scorer of the last season, Jess Duffin and the injury to Lea Tahuhu is also a massive blow to their chances. However, the likes Sophir Molineux, Amy Sattherthwaite and Lizelle Lee still make them a pretty solid unit. In the bowling department they have a decent attack in Georgia Wareham and Molly Strano.
Perth Scorchers on the other hand started their tournament with a massive defeat to Brisbane Heat and their second assignment against Hobart Hurricanes was washed out due to rain. Now with 1 loss and 1 washout, they’re placed 7th in the points table and desperately need a victory to remain in the competition. With Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney at the top, they’ve one of the best openers in the tournament. They along with Amy Jones and Nicole Bolton form a strong batting order. In the bowling department, Heather Graham and Piepa Cleary are good enough to trouble the best batsmen of the tournament. Overall, both teams are equally matched but Perth Scorchers are expected to emerge victorious due to a better all-round unit.
