Melbourne Renegades will take on Perth Scorchers in the 4th match of the Big Bash League. The match will be played on the Bellerive Oval, Hobart and is all set to take place at 7:15 PM Local time
Melbourne Renegades will be eager to get off to a strong start after they put on a miserable defence of their title win in the BBL 08. They manages only three wins in the previous season which was one of their worst performance in the history of the tournament.
Perth scorchers on the other hand are one of the most successful teams in the history of Big Bash League with three title wins to their name. However, the two seasons have not been very pleasing for them as well. They made some interesting signings for this season but some of their key players won't be available for the initial part of the tournament.
For Renegades, they'll be lead by Aaron Finch, who'll be their main man with the bat along with Shaun Marsh. Mackenzie Harvey, Sam Harper, Beau Webster and Jake Fraser-McGurk will be their other batsmen.
Yes, the batting looks little fragile but all these batsmen have decent reputation in Australia's domestic circuit. In the bowling department, Kane Richardson will lead their attack along with Jon Holland. Josh Laylor can be their third pacer while Cameron Boyce will take charge of the spin department.
Overall, the team might not have too many big names but they look a pretty balanced side with the experience of Shaun Marsh, Aaron Finch and Kane Richardson while the freshness of some young Australian blood.
For Perth Scorchers, their batting will be powered by Kiwi superstar Colin Munro and Australian powerhouse Ashton Turner and Cameron Bancroft. Mitchell Marsh, Joe Clark, Josh Inglish, Joel Paris are other batsmen that might get in the XI.
Andrew Tye and Jason Behrendorff will lead their charge with the ball. Matthew Kelly might be the third pacer while Fawad Ahmed is expected to play the role of a spinner.
Overall, both teams have quite a few new faces and we're not sure which players will start in the playing XI. Perth Scorchers look a very strong team on paper and are favourites for this match.
