Lions have won the toss in each of their last three matches and have elected to field first each time. Warriors did the same when these teams last met at Johannesburg.

Lions stuck with the side that signed off from the league stage for their semi-final and are likely to be unchanged again for the final. That would mean Lizaad Williams continuing in the bowling attack, after taking six wickets in the last three games – his only three matches of CSA T20 Challenge 2019 season..
World Cup-bound Rassie van der Dussen struck his third half-century in the semi-final to lead Lions to victory. Van der Dussen’s unbeaten 69 from 49 balls took him to 275 runs so far this season, from eight innings, with a strike rate of 137.50.
Ryan Rickleton remains their top run-scorer, however. He also has three half-centuries to his name and hit 35 off 19 balls last time out to move to 278 runs for the season.
Temba Bavuma’s unbeaten half-century, from 37 balls, took the Lions’ captain to 222 runs, meanwhile, and – despite not showing his best form this season – Reeza Hendricks should not be discounted either. His big-hitting ability is well known.
With the ball, Bjorn Fortuin leads the wicket-taking charts with 11 – at a cost of just 5.52 runs per over – while Aaron Phangiso has taken eight and gone for 6.13 runs per over. Lizaad Williams has come into the team for the last three matches and has collected six wickets.
Since defeat to Warriors when these teams last met at The Wanderers, Lions have won three matches in a row. They bounced back with a dominant all-round performance against Cape Cobras, as they restricted the hosts to 133/7 before Rassie van der Dussen’s unbeaten half-century led them to a six-wicket win inside 16 overs.
Next up, Lizaad Williams claimed 3-32 as they held Titans to 148/7 before Ryan Rickleton’s 74 from 47 balls ensured the chase was always under control – Lions winning by four wickets with an over to spare.
That put them top of the group and set up the semi-final with Dolphins where, chasing 164 to win, Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma both hit unbeaten half-centuries and Lions won by eight wickets with eight balls to spare.

Thomas Kaber was rotated out again for the semi-final, with Lesiba Ngoepe preferred in his place, and Warriors could stick with the same line-up for the final. They have largely been consistent with their team selection this year, with Kaber/Ngoepe one of few selection decisions they have had to make.
Matthew Breetzke hit an unbeaten 72 to lead Warriors to their dominant win when these teams last met and added his second half-century of this year’s tournament when he hit 60 against Cape Cobras in the semi-final.
He is the team’s leading run scorer with 215 in total, narrowly ahead of Marco Marais and Gihahn Cloete.
Marais found good batting form in the middle of this year’s tournament, with two eye-catching half-centuries, and his 201 runs from six innings come with a strike rate of 164.75. Cloete, meanwhile, was their leading batsman earlier in the tournament and he has 200 runs in total.
With the ball, Andrew Birch took 4-10 in the win against Knights at the end of the league stage and now has nine wickets from seven innings. Sisanda Magala has eight wickets, including taking 2-19 in the semi-final win.
After beating Lions at the Wanderers, Warriors lost their next match – failing to defend 153/7 against a Vaugh van Jaarsveld-inspired Dolphins team as they suffered a seven-wicket defeat.
They have bounced back with back-to-back wins, however, including an excellent bowling display against Knights. Andrew Birch led the way with 4-10 as Knights posted just 96/7 from their 20 overs, and Gihahn Cloete made a patient run-a-ball 40 to anchor the chase and lead Warriors to a four-wicket win.In the semi-final, meanwhile, Matthew Breetzke was back on top form as he hit 60 from 38 balls in a total of 172/7. Sisanda Magala then claimed 2-19 as Warriors won by 15 runs.

Warriors’ dominant win against Lions when they last met maintained their excellent record in this fixture. They have won their last four completed games in this fixture and were well-set before the rain came in the other of their last five too – the only no result at T20 level between these sides.
Warriors have now won 16 of their 26 games against Lions, while the Lions have eight wins. Matthew Breetzke (72*) and Gihahn Cloete led the way when they last met. Their century stand for the first wicket helped Warriors chase down 145 to beat Lions for the loss of just one wicket, reaching their target with a massive 33 balls to spare.

Rassie van der Dussen has found his best form as Lions have got back to winning ways, and he is 3.75 to be their top batsman, while Reeza Hendricks is the same price. Ryan Rickelton can be backed at 4.50 and, fresh from his semi-final half-century, Temba Bavuma is 5.00.
Matthew Breetzke led the way when these teams last met, and he is 4.50 to be Warriors’ top batsman with Bet365 – the same price as Gihahn Cloete, who has been solid this season. Marco Marais has also been in big-hitting form and can be backed at 5.00.
Lions have a strong bowling attack too, however, led by Bjorn Fortuin. Fortuin is 3.75 to be their top bowler, while Aaron Phangiso and Lizaad Williams can be backed at 5.00 with Bet365.
For Warriors, Sisanda Magala is 4.00 after his excellent bowling in the semi-final, while Andrew Birch is the same price after starring in the final league game.
Lions have a poor record in this fixture, but with Rassie van der Dussen in form they can use their home advantage in the final and avenge their defeat during the league stage. Warriors have beaten Lions once already this season, but the hosts could have the last laugh.
