Leic Team News

Leicestershire have been unchanged in their first two matches, with overseas players Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Nabi both available from the start of this year's t20 Blast. Though their batsmen fell short last time out, it would be a surprise if they made big changes having won well in their first game of the season.

Leic Key Players

Captain Colin Ackermann scored 66 from 31 balls as Leicestershire chased Northants' 218/3 with two balls to spare in their first game. Neil Dexter had earlier set the tone with 38 from 21 balls in a 55-run opening partnership in the powerplay and also scored 35 in the second game.

Mark Cosgrove's ability with the bat is well known too - he hit 21 from 13 balls in the first game.

Mohammad Nabi is yet to fire with the bat, but the Afghanistan all-rounder took 1-24 with the ball last time out. Zak Chappell claimed 3-22, while Mohammad Abbas took 1-15 from his full four overs. Abbas has taken a wicket apiece in each match so far.

Leic Team Form

Leicestershire Foxes were quarter-finalists in last year's t20 Blast after winning eight of their 14 matches in the northern group. This year, they won their first game after chasing Northants Steelbacks' 218/3 to win by four wickets with two balls to spare.

They could not back that up, however, as they were bowled out for 120 last time out in pursuit of Durham's 153/7.

Elsewhere this year, they won just two of their eight matches in the Royal London One-Day Cup but they are sat third in the County Championship second division.

Nottinghamshire Team News & Playing 11

Notts Team News

Jake Ball was released from international duty to play in Notts Outlaws' opening game but his recall to the England team for the second match against India means he is unlikely to feature on Sunday, unless England make an early decision on whether it will be he or Moeen Ali playing at Bristol.

In Ball's absence, Paul Coughlin returned from injury while Chris Nash was replaced by Will Fraine - Steven Mullaney moving up the order to open the batting, with Alex Hales also away on England duty.

Notts Key Players

Captain Dan Christian underlined his importance to this team with a superb 113 not out in the win against Northants Steelbacks last time out. Christian continued the form he showed while touring with the Aboriginal XI as he smashed seven fours and nine sixes in his 45-ball innings.

Rikki Wessels had top scored in the previous game, meanwhile, with 41 from 29 balls, while Steven Mullaney has hit two quick-fire 20s without kicking on. Samit Patel hit 35 from 26 balls last time out, meanwhile, having helped Islamabad United to Pakistan Super League victory earlier this year.

With the ball, Ish Sodhi has taken a wicket in each game so far - the latter marking his 109th wicket in his 100th T20 appearance. The New Zealander is ranked fourth best T20 international bowler in the world.

The stars with the ball last time out were the seamers, however. Harry Gurney claimed 3-30 from 3.3 overs - having starred in last year's final with 4-17 - while Luke Fletcher took 3-21 from three overs.

Notts Team Form

Notts Outlaws won last year's t20 Blast as they topped the Northern Group, beat Somerset by five wickets in the quarter-finals and then defeated Hampshire and Birmingham on finals day thanks to some excellent bowling at Edgbaston.

They lost to Birmingham Bears in the first game of this year's competition - posting 155/7 before Ian Bell and Sam Hain helped Birmingham reach that tally with ease, with 16 balls remaining, to win by eight wickets.

Notts bounced back against Northamptonshire, however, with Dan Christian in superb batting form. His 45-ball 113 not out helped them to 219/6 with some big hitting in the second half of their innings. Northants were 161 all out in reply.

Elsewhere this season, Nottinghamshire reached the quarter-finals of the Royal London One-Day Cup and are currently sat second in the County Championship.

Leicestershire vs Nottinghamshire Head to Head

The weather has claimed three of the last five matches between these two teams, but their most recent meeting was worth the wait as Leicestershire won by two runs in a high-scoring thriller at Trent Bridge. Cameron Delport hit 109 from 59 balls in the Foxes' innings - Harry Gurney claiming 2-36 for the Outlaws - but Dan Christian hit 73 from 38 balls in the reply to set up a thrilling final over.

Notts needed nine to win from seven balls when Christian was dismissed, but Matthew Pillans got Ish Sodhi out and Billy Root and Jake Ball fell just short as Notts closed on 201/8 - just five coming from the final over.

Last time at Grace Road, Rikki Wessels and Alex Hales hit half-centuries as Notts posted 210/8, but the rain intervened before Leicester could start their reply.

Leicestershire vs Nottinghamshire Betting Odds

Nottinghamshire are favourites to beat Leicestershire on Sunday, with Bet365 offering 1.66 on an Outlaws win, while the Foxes are 2.20.

After his stunning century last time out, Dan Christian is 7.00 to finish as the Outlaws' top scorer again but his position down the order makes that a risk. Rikki Wessels is 4.00 and could be a better option having been their top man in last year's t20 Blast.

Leicestershire Foxes will need runs up the order, and Neil Dexter will hope to kick on after good starts in his last two games. He is 4.50 to top score for the Foxes.

🏆 Leicestershire vs Nottinghamshire Prediction

Dan Christian highlighted his importance in the most recent game, and the Outlaws - defending champions - can make it two from two with a win at Grace Road.

Final Verdict: Back Notts Outlaws to beat Leicestershire Foxes at 1.66 with Bet365
