Lahore Qalandars have been beset by bad luck this year. Mohammad Hafeez, AB de Villiers, Brendan Taylor and, most recently, Ryan ten Doeschate have all had to withdraw from the tournament injured. Riki Wessels replaced the Dutchman last time out, with Ten Doeschate himself having been a late replacement for De Villiers. Shaheen Afridi's expensive bowling could see him dropped this time out, meanwhile - he only recently returned to the team ahead of Aizaz Cheema.

Sohail Akhtar hit eight fours and five sixes in his innings of 75 from 34 balls last time outon a score of 189/9 that would normally be hugely impressive. He is now the Qalandars top run scorer with 236 from eight innings at a strike rate of 143.03.

Akhtar is four ahead of captain Fakhar Zaman, who overtook AB de Villiers with his knock of 38 from 20 balls last time out, which had initially set the tone for a good chase. 

New addition Riki Wessels has been in impressive form in previous T20 engagements, meanwhile - including the Afghanistan Premier League. He hit 20 on his first Qalandars appearance last time out.

With the ball, Sandeep Lamichhane's wicket in the last match was his 11th of the tournament from just six matches. That includes three against Multan Sultans when these teams last met and his career-best 4-10 against Quetta Gladiators.

The pacemen were expensive last time out, but Haris Rauf does also have 11 wickets in the tournament and Rahat Ali is one behind on ten from seven games.

Since Sandeep Lamichhane bowled Lahore to victory against in-form Quetta Gladiators - dismissing them for 106 on their way to an eight-wicket win - Lahore Qalandars have lost all three matches they have played.

First, a score of 133/5 was below par as they lost by five wickets to Karachi Kings before they could only post 124/7 on their way to a four-wicket loss to Peshawar Zalmi. Last time out was a much more higher scoring affair as Islamabad took the attack to the Lahore bowling with a total of 238/3, which proved 49 runs too many for the Qalandars despite Sohail Akhtar's 75 from 34 balls.
