LHQ vs PSZ Prediction & Betting Tips, PSL 2020
The first eliminator of the 2020 Pakistan Super League sees third-placed Lahore Qalandars take on fourth-placed Peshawar Zalmi as the tournament resumes after its seven-month. The match takes place on November 14 and the live action is scheduled to start at 19:00 local time.
Lahore Qalandars finished the initial group stage in good form but they have had to replace Chris Lynn, who hit a century in their most recent match, with Tamim Iqbal for these play-offs. Lynn has lacked form since March, however, so it may prove an unexpected blessing for the Qalandars at the top of the order.
Peshawar Zalmi have been forced into the most changes, meanwhile. They finished fourth in the group stage in March, but Liam Livingstone and Liam Dawson are now not available. IPL winner Kieron Pollard, who missed the group stage too, has also not returned. Faf du Plessis, Hardus Viljoen and Saqib Mahmood have been recruited.

Lahore Qalandars Team News & Playing 11
LHQ Team News
Lahore have only had to make one change to their squad since the play-offs, but it is a notable one with Chris Lynn – who hit a century in the final group game – replaced by Tamim Iqbal. The big-hitting Bangladeshi star could slot straight in at the top of the order.
LHQ Key Players
- Ben Dunk: Key to Lahore’s resurgent form in the group stage, the big-hitting wicket-keeper-batsman has already expressed his excitement about returning for the play-offs.
- Shaheen Afridi: Finished the group stage as Lahore’s top bowler, claiming 13 wickets in nine matches with a tidy economy rate of 7.02 runs per over too.
- Fakhar Zaman: Signed off from the group stage with a half-century and the opener, with Lynn absent, needs to set the tone at the top of the order.
LHQ Team Form
Lahore Qalandars booked their play-off place with a nine-wicket win against Multan Sultans at the end of the group stage. It capped a resurgent run of form, as David Wiese (2-24) and Shaheen Afridi (2-23) restricted the Sultans to 186/6. In reply, Chris Lynn was in dominant form, smashing 113* in a total of 191/1 to claim a nine-wicket victory.
Lahore Qalandars Predicted Playing 11
Fakhar Zaman, Tamim Iqbal, Sohail Akhtar (c), Ben Dunk (wk), Mohammad Hafeez, David Wiese, Samit Patel, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Raja Farzan, Dilbar Hussain
Peshawar Zalmi Team News & Playing 11
PSZ Team News
Already ruled out of the group stage, Kieron Pollard will now miss the play-offs too. Peshawar Zalmi have replaced the IPL winner with Faf du Plessis, while Liam Livingstone and Liam Dawson also miss out – Saqib Mahmood and Hardus Viljoen signing in their place.
PSZ Key Players
- Haider Ali: Proved his form with 66* and 27 in the last two matches of the Pakistan vs Zimbabwe T20i series last month.
- Shoaib Malik: Hit a purple patch of form in T20 franchise cricket leading up the tournament pausing, and the veteran all-rounder will be keen to get back to that.
- Wahab Riaz: Led the Peshawar Zalmi bowling in the group stage and, on the back of some fine form for Khyber, took two wickets for Pakistan against Zimbabwe last week too.
PSZ Team Form
Inconsistent Peshawar Zalmi lost their last two matches in the group stages. They failed to defend 187/7, after Haider Ali’s 69, when these teams last met and then fell just short – hitting 151/7 – in reply to Multan Sultans’ 154/6 in their most recent game.
Peshawar Zalmi Predicted Playing 11
Kamran Akmal (wk), Imam-ul-Haq, Faf du Plessis, Haider Ali, Shoaib Malik, Hardus Viljoen, Wahab Riaz (c), Hasan Ali, Saqib Mahmood, Rahat Ali, Yasir Shah
Lahore Qalandars vs Peshawar Zalmi Head to Head
Lahore’s win when these teams last met was only their second in this fixture. In between, Zalmi won seven in a row and they have claimed eight from ten in this fixture in total. Last time out, however, Haider Ali’s 69 proved in vain as Zalmi failed to defend 187/7. Fakhar Zaman led the way for Lahore, hitting 63 as they won by five wickets with one ball to spare.
