Lahore Qalandars will attempt to stretch their winning start to the 2021 Pakistan Super League to three matches when they take on Multan Sultans.
The Qalandar chased 141 to beat Peshawar Zalmi first up, before a nine-wicket win chasing 179 against Quetta last time out.
Multan Sultans, by contrast, have lost two from two – most recently failing to defend 193/4 as they lost to Peshawar Zalmi.

Ahmed Daniyal bowled well in place of the latter last time out and it could be an unchanged Qalandars pace attack who take on Multan Sultans. The spin department must change, however, following Rashid Khan’s departure to play for Afghanistan.

Shaheen Afridi: After his excellent spell in the first game, he was more expensive at the death last time out but still picked up another early wicket.
Mohammad Hafeez: Anchored the chase in the first match with 33* and then continued his excellent batting form with a stinging 73* from 33 balls last time out.

Haris Rauf took 3-38 but some late runs meant they were set 179 to win. Fakhar Zaman (82*) and Mohammad Hafeez (73*) ensured they sealed a nine-wicket win with ten balls to spare.

Mohammad Hafeez has been key to both of Lahore’s wins with the bat so far, and Rashid Khan’s absence could mean his bowling is called upon more. That latter point is true of Samit Patel too, who now looks good value at 8.5 credits. For Multan Sultans, Shahid Afridi and Carlos Brathwaite are inconsistent and down the order with the bat, but both have taken wickets already.
Bowlers
With no Rashid Khan, Shaheen Afridi is the obvious bowling choice at 9.5 credits, having taken four wickets so far. From the rising left-arm bowling star of Pakistan cricket to one of the veteran proponents, Sohail Tanvir has not been in good form so far but he is hard to ignore if he does find top form. That still leaves one space to fill, and Haris Rauf returned with three wickets last time out so he is a good option.
Captain /Vice Captain
Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf are in the wickets already, but Mohammad Rizwan’s batting form is difficult to overlook too. One of the two pacemen would make for a good vice-captain pick at least, but Rizwan’s consistency edges the captain pick his way.

Shahnawaz Dhani and Usman Qadir came into the team, and having taken three wickets between them they could retain their place – Qadir in particular, as he kept things tidy too.

James Vince: After his BBL-winning form for Sydney Sixers in Australia, the Englishman continued that with an excellent 84 from 55 balls last time out in PSL 2021.
Mohammad Rizwan: In excellent form for Pakistan, he has started this tournament with scores of 71 and 41 to continue that purple patch.
Sohail Tanvir: Multan Sultans need somebody to step up and sort their death bowling and a return to form for Tanvir could be key in guiding that.

Multan Sultans ended the last tournament with three defeats – missing out on the final despite finishing top of the group – and they have started this one with two losses. Both times they have been well placed but lost it late on. Mohammad Rizwan hit 71 out of 150/8 against Islamabad United, but a late onslaught saw them lose by three wickets. Last time out, meanwhile, James Vince smashed 84 in a total of 193/4 against Peshawar Zalmi, but Zalmi scored 37 runs from 12 balls at the end to win by six wickets with an over to spare.
