Khulna Tigers and Rajshahi Royals meet in the Bangladesh Premier League 2019-20 final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka, on January 17. The live action is scheduled to start at 19:00 local time.

Khulna Tigers qualified for the final in supreme form, winning their last four consecutive matches to finish first and then beat Rajshahi in the first qualifier. Najmul Hossain Shanto followed up his unbeaten century in the final league game with 78* from 57 balls in a total of 158/3, and then Mohammad Amir stole the show – the Pakistani paceman recording the best ever BPL figures of 6-17 to seal a 27-run victory.

Rajshahi recovered from being bowled out for 131 in that game, however – Andre Russell getting back to his best with 54* from 22 balls to lead them to a two-wicket win, with four balls remaining, chasing 165 against Chattogram Challengers.

Mushfiqur Rahim edges out Liton Das as the stand-out wicket-keeper choice but his hamstring injury raises questions as to whether he will be involved and Das – at 1.5 credits cheaper – is the safer option. He has batted well this year too, so it is barely a downgrade.

Batsmen

Shoaib Malik hit 80 when these teams last met and 87 in a previous meeting this year too. He is well worth his ten-credit cost. Rilee Rossouw is 9.5 credits and has been outstanding for Khulna this season too. Najmul Hossain Shanto has been the star in recent matches though, and his 8.5-credit pricetag makes him a must-have.
