The fourth quarter-final of the Royal London One-Day Cup 2016 will see Kent take on Yorkshire at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury. The match will be played on August 18 with live action scheduled to begin at 2 PM local time. Kent finished the group stage placed at the second spot in the South Group standings with ten points while Yorkshire finished third in the North Group with nine points.

Read on for our betting tips and match prediction for the fourth quarter-final of the Royal London One-Day Cup 2016 between Kent and Yorkshire...

Venue and Toss

In the three group games at this ground this year, 250+ has been scored in the first innings only once. Last year as well, there was only a single 250+ score achieved in the first innings. So there haven't been many high scoring contests here which means a bowler-friendly surface can be expected on Thursday. Since 231 and 258 have been defended with ease, anything around 250-260 should be fairly competitive. Furthermore, since the venue has seen four successful chases in the last six matches, the toss-winning team may want to bat second.

Playing in familiar conditions, Kent's chances of a win shall increase sharply upon winning the toss.

Kent Team News & Playing 11

If Kent Bat First

Prediction: Around 240

The opening combination of Bell-Drummond and Denly seems to be working out nicely for them as the two have been recently involved in three big partnerships. This includes the massive 203-run stand against Hampshire. Denly has been the most consistent with the bat and he could be the top-scorer from his side. Skipper Northeast and Billings both hit half-centuries in their final group match, and Kent should be propelled to 240 if either of them can provide a good support to the openers.

Yorkshire could start off with Willey, Patterson and Plunkett. These three have been the pick of the bowlers from their side and they can be expected to do some damage to Kent early on. Off-spinner Azeem Rafiq has been decent enough and he could slow things down in the middle overs. Yorkshire, however, are going to depend mainly on their fast bowlers to take wickets and restrict Kent to as little as they can.

Yorkshire Team News & Playing 11

If Yorkshire Bat First

Prediction: Around 250

They are definitely going to miss Travis Head who has left the team to link up with his national squad in Sri Lanka. Garry Balance is likely to make his way into the side to compensate for this loss. With skipper Lees struggling with his poor form, it will be mostly up to Adam Lyth and Balance to set up the foundation for their team. Yorkshire will need these two to score big and Bresnan to produce another fine innings in the middle-order if they are to get 250 or more.

Yorkshire will have to be extremely careful while facing Kent's Matt Coles. The fast bowler has been on fire this season and has taken 21 wickets to become the tournament's leading wicket-taker. He notched up four wickets in the last match and he will be backed by his skipper to run through Kent's batting lineup. If the others are able to maintain the pressure and don't allow Kent to get away, they could be chasing a score much less than what we've predicted.

Our Prediction

Kent have an outstanding overall record at Canterbury with eight wins and three defeats in eleven matches. They also have wins in their last two matches here and will be coming into this quarter-final on the back of three consecutive wins from the group stage.

Yorkshire, despite facing defeats in their last two group games, have been amongst the stronger sides this year. Adam Lyth has been batting well while Tim Bresnan has contributed with both the bat and the ball. They seem a nice outfit that packs quite a few of England's reputed international players.

Although Kent are going to have the home advantage on their side, we're backing Yorkshire here to win the fourth quarter-final and reserve a place for themselves in the semis.
