Kenya will take on Nepal in the third ODI of the three-game series. The match will be played at the Gymkhana Club Ground, Nairobi starting at 09:30 local time on Sunday 4th September.

Kenya once again had the experienced middle-order pair of Collins Obuya and Rakep Patel to thank for taking the team total to a competitive level in the second game of the series. The pair shared a partnership of 130 in the first ODI and made 81 for the fifth wicket in the second ODI. Ultimately Kenya were not expected to win either series against Nepal but have proved to be competitive in both formats. 20 year old left-arm spinner Vraj Patel, who was not selected for the first ODI, was picked on Saturday and took a two wicket haul for the sixth time in six games against Kenya over the last 10 days. Rakep Patel scored 81 runs from 98 nalls in the second match and has totalled 148 over the two games in this series alone.

After a seven wicket win in the first game of the series, Nepal won by a slightly smaller margin, 17 runs, in Saturday’s second game to seal the series with one to play. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, captain Rohit Paudel top scored with 78 runs from 95 balls at number four. Opener Dev Khanal was the only other Nepalese player to score over 30 with Sompal Kami, at number nine, hitting the only six of the innings. Nepal posted 230 all out and took wickets at regular enough intervals to never really look like losing. Part time off-spin bowler, Dipendra Singh Airee, recorded figures of 4-12 including the key wicket of Rakep Patel and took the final four wickets of the game. Opening bowler Sompal Kami took his second three-wicket haul of the series.
