With the ball, Usman Shinwari returned to the team with a four-wicket haul against Multan Sultans and then bowled the superb, match-winning final over last time out in which he claimed three wickets. Umer Khan dismissed Shane Watson, Rilee Rossouw and Umar Akmal last time to move to 13 in this year’s tournament so far.

Karachi have now won their last three games in a row, with two bowling performances earning them victory against Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans before a thrilling victory in a high-scoring contest with Quetta Gladiators.

Against the Qalandars, Liam Livingstone led the chase of 134 to claim a five-wicket win, while the Lancashire batsman was top scorer again – hitting a half-century – to lead a chase of 119 to beat the Sultans. Usman Shinwari had earlier helped restrict the Sultans to 118/7.

Last time out, Babar Azam’s half-century helped them to 190/5 against Quetta Gladiators. In reply, Umer Khan took 3-26 and Usman Shinwari took three wickets in the final over as they claimed a one-run win.
