After beating South Africa Women in the opening game of their tour, Ireland Women have struggled in the two subsequent WIT20s and two WODIs. However, there were signs of improvement in Tuesday’s 9 wicket defeat as Ireland women posted a total of 213-8 after being bowled out for 69 in the previous match. Captain Gaby Lewis top scored with 59 runs from 88 balls with the opener hitting eight fours during her innings. The only Irish wicket was taken by medium pacer Georgina Dempsey.
South Africa Women have won the last four games in Dublin and will be looking to sign off from this tour with another victory on Friday. After reaching their target after only 16 overs on Saturday, they were put through their paces more in Tuesday’s game and required 38.4 overs to knock off the runs. For the second successive game, Lara Goodall top scored for South Africa. Her innings of 93 not out came from 99 balls and included eight fours.
