Ireland and New Zealand conclude the ODI series on Friday at The Village, Malahide. It has been a fascinating series so far with two very close games, both won by New Zealand. The opening game was won by 1 wicket with 1 ball remaining. Tuesday’s second match saw New Zealand win by 3 wickets. Read on as we preview this ODI. The third game of the series gets underway at 10:45 local time.
Ultimately it was Ireland’s lack of runs at the top of their order which cost them the win on Tuesday. However, they no longer want to be plucky losers and we expect them to go all out for the victory in this ODI.
The visitors will have been pleased to get over the winning line with 11.5 overs to spare in the second game of the series. However, they will be looking for more runs from their batters to produce a more complete performance.

Although they have lost the series, it has been a very positive showing from Ireland over the two games so far. The Black Caps have won eight games in a row in this format and, although Tuesday’s win was far from convincing, it was more comfortable than Sunday’s victory.
