India have won both matches in Group A so far, beating Sri Lanka after posting 297/4 and bowling them out for 90, before skittling Japan for 41 in their second game – which they won by ten wickets.
New Zealand were well set to beat Japan before the rain curtailed their opening game, but they beat Sri Lanka last time out – chasing 243 to win by three wickets off the penultimate ball – to all-but guarantee their quarter-final place. They are outsiders for this match, however.
