Our Pick Hobart Hurricanes are favorites to win
Hobart Hurricanes will take on Melbourne Stars in the 23rd match of the Big Bash League. The match will be played at the Bellerive Oval and is scheduled to begin at 5.05 PM local time.
4 wins in 6 games, Hobart Hurricanes will be very satisfied with their performance in the BBL 2020-21. They’re coming back from a nervy 1 run victory over Brisbane Heat and are placed as the 3rd ranked team in the points table.
Although they will be happy with what has transpired till now, there will be few concerns about the form of their batsmen.
In D Arcy Short, Ben McDermott, David Malan, Peter Handcomb, Colin Ingram, Tim David, they have pretty solid batting line up but unfortunately, none of them have been consistent. If they don’t start scoring runs collectively, it’ll be very difficult for Hobart Hurricanes to continue their winning run.
Hobart Hurricanes owe their success to their bowlers who’ve been sensational. Riley Meredith, Scott Boland, Nathan Ellis and all round option of D Arcy Short have performed brilliantly.
Melbourne Stars with 2 wins and 2 losses are placed at the 5th spot in the points table. They’ve been pretty good in all their matches apart from their last game against Sydney Thunders, where they were thrashed by 75 runs.
Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell and Nicolas Pooran are their three top batsmen. All of them have been in good touch too. Players like Hilton Cartwright, Nic Maddinson and Ben Dunk bring in a lot of stability in their batting order.
The bowling is also doing good with Billy Stalake, Zahir Khan, Adam Zampa and Liam Hatcher.
Taking about this match, both teams are on par with each other in terms of batting but Hurricanes have a slightly better bowling line up which gives them an edge over the Stars.

Chasing won’t be easy on this wicket thus both skippers would like win the toss and bat first.
Hobart offers one of the best surfaces to bat in Australia. The ball will come nicely on to the bat and the batsmen will enjoy batting here. In the second innings though, the pitch will get slightly slower which will bring the spinners into play.
The weather will be clear with temperatures hovering around 15 degrees
