Hamphire have signed Chris Morris for the 2019 season of the Vitality T20 Blast. The South African pace bowler was the first overseas player to be picked by the county this year. Hamphire are expected to open their batting with Calvin Dickinson and skipper James Vince. Rilee Rossouw and Liam Dawson will be a part of the team's middle-order batting. Chris Wood and Chris Morris could be handed the new balls.

James Vince: The opening batsman failed to make significant contributions in the three World Cup games that he played, but he definitely has the potential to score the big runs. Vince has played two good knocks this year - 79 versus Lancashire and 64 versus Australia in a World Cup warm-up game.
Rilee Rossouw: The South African batsman has had a good run in the Specsavers County Championship and scored 92 and 66 in the respective innings in his last match against Kent. He also has a couple of half-centuries in T20 internationals.
Chris Morris: The all-rounder is coming off a good World Cup where he finished as the leading wicket-taker for the Proteas with 13 wickets which included three three-wicket hauls. Morris can also smash the ball a long way and is dangerous with the bat in the T20 format.

Hampshire struggled throughout their campaign last year and finished second from the bottom on the South Group points table with two wins and nine losses. They have faced six defeats in their last seven completed matches in the tournament. Hampshire's most recent encounter came against Gloucestershire at Southampton which they won by six wickets.

Sussex have roped in Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey in their squad for this year's Vitality Blast. He will be doing the glovework behind the stumps and is likely to be slotted in the middle order. Philip Salt will probably open the innings alongside captain Luke Wright with Laurie Evans and Delray Rawlins expected to bat at three and four respectively. Jofra Archer and Tymal Mills are likely to be the team's new-ball bowlers.

Laurie Evans: The top-order batsman topped the runs charts in the previous season of the T20 Blast with 614 runs and Sussex will want him to fire for them this year as well. He smashed seven half-centuries in the tournament last time, one of which came in the final against Worcestershire.
Alex Carey: The Australian was one of the most consistent batsmen in the World Cup, scoring 375 runs at an average of 62.50 and a strike-rate of 104.16. Carey's scores in his last four matches read: 38*, 71, 85 and 46.
Jofra Archer: He is definitely the biggest threat in Sussex's bowling attack. The pacer was the third-best bowler of the World Cup with 20 wickets. He also finished amongst the leading wicket-takers with 22 wickets in last year's Vitality T20 Blast.
SUS Recent Form
Sussex had a pretty successful tournament in the previous edition of the Vitality Blast where they came runners-up after finishing third in their group standings with seven wins and three losses. They defeated Durham by five wickets in the quarter-final before beating Somerset by 35 runs in the semi-final. Sussex, however, went down to Worcestershire in the final at Birmingham.
